Israel’s Security Cabinet decision: Metal detectors to be removed & replace by advanced optics

In an agreement facilitated by Jason Greenblatt, U.S. President Donald Trump’s Mid-East envoy, the Temple Mount’s magnetometers will be replaced with advanced technologies according to Monday night’s decision from Israel’s Security Cabinet, with an allocated budget of up to 100 million shekels for the sophisticated optic & thermal devices.

Decision: Israel’s on-duty police to wear body cameras

 

Pilot program found law enforcement personnel sporting cameras improved police behavior, lowered public complaints and bolstered public confidence in law enforcement.

Israeli Police forces announced on Sunday that on-duty officers will wear body cameras after a pilot project proved the devices improve police behavior and bolster public confidence in local law enforcement , Haaretz daily reported.

The pilot, which was carried out for a six month period between 2016 and 2017 on traffic police and on duty officers, revealed that body cameras improve officers’ interactions with the public and overall general performance, according to Haaretz.

Hamas lodges complaint about Israel’s posted West Bank security cameras

Senior Hamas official rallies Palestinian organizations to complain about the saturation of Israeli security cameras in Judea and Samaria that ‘expose terrorist cells’ to Israel’s security services.

A Hamas spokesperson in Judea and Samaria, Hussam Badaran, called on the Palestinian organizations to discuss the issue of security cameras in Judea and Samaria, which in his opinion “expose our Palestinian militants and make it more difficult to commit terror attacks against the occupying forces and the settlers.”
