Arab Slaps Random Jew in Attack on Jerusalem’s Light Rail

Jewish man in Jerusalem becomes target to random attack in what seems to be anti-Jewish motivated incident.

A Jewish man from the Binyamin region was assaulted Monday in a random attack on the light rail train in Jerusalem. The young man told Arutz Sheva that he was targeted by a group of Arab youths, apparently due to his recognizably Jewish appearance.

He was part of a group traveling to a birthday party in Jerusalem, he recalled. The group sat toward the front of the train.

Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian Authority Arab and wounded two others during an operation early Tuesday in the Palestinian Authority-controlled city of Jenin in Samaria (Shomron)

Security forces were attempting to apprehend a member of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization when they came under attack.

“During the activity, shots were fired at the forces and improvised explosive devices and rocks were hurled at the security personnel, injuring two soldiers,” a military spokeswoman told AFP. Continue Reading »

Russia’s Jewish Autonomous Region Under Flood Threat

As worst floods of past 120 years hit, about 170,000 people have already been evacuated from Amur, Khabarovsk & Birobidzhan provinces, near Russia’s border with China. Birobidzhan,was once intended to serve as an alternative Soviet homeland for the Jews.

As many as 100,000 people may be evacuated from their homes near Russia’s border with China if the region’s biggest floods for 120 years get worse, Russian media reported on Saturday.

PA officials accuse Kerry of ‘deception & misinformation’ in peace talks with Israel

Palestinian representatives say Kerry gave Abbas assurances on Israeli settlement freeze.

Palestinian officials in Ramallah have accused the US Administration of deceiving and misinforming the Palestinian Authority with regards to the peace talks with Israel.

The officials told the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper that they were concerned about the US Administration’s role in the peace talks with Israel, especially its position on plans to build new homes in settlements and east Jerusalem neighborhoods.

The officials met with PA President Mahmoud Abbas last Thursday and heard from him about the peace talks with Israel.

Egyptian nuclear scientist fled to Israel: Temple Mount Belongs to Jews


 

Noha Hashad, the Egyptian nuclear physicist who fled to Israel and has remained, has said publicly that according to the Koran the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people, and there’s no doubt the Temple Mount also belongs to the Jews.

‘Hasbara’ Director Suspended by PM Over ‘Offensive’ Facebook Posts

Danny Seaman, the Prime Minister’s head of Israel’s on-line communications activities, claims he is the victim of a vendetta by Ha’aretz, an Israeli  left-wing daily newspaper.

Danny Seaman, who is director of social and interactive media in the Prime Minister’s Office, has been suspended after several people complained that he had made offensive posts on his personal Facebook page. There was no word as to when, or if, he would return to work.

Seaman oversees the government’s Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Youtube video channels, and other on-line activities, presenting messages from the government on policy, and providing official points of view on political and security matters. Continue Reading »

Russia to donate $1 million to Auschwitz conservation fund

 

24 countries have contributed thus far. Germany has contributed $80 million, followed by the U.S. with $15 million. Poland, where the camp is located, has promised about $13 million, according to Polskie Radio.

 

Russia will contribute up to $1 million to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation for the conservation and maintenance of the site of the former Nazi concentration camp.

Russia’s pledge was reported Tuesday by the Polskie Radio website, which cited a statement issued by the Russian Embassy in Warsaw. Support for the project, the statement said, is “a common moral duty as it serves the mission of preserving the memory of the huge number of victims of the Nazi camp and of other crimes against humanity.”

10 Jewish Yemenite children who were brought to Argentina in 2011, arrive in Israel Wednesday, to reunite with their families just as their parents land from Yemen in covert operation.

17 Yemenite Jews landed in Israel Wednesday, in a Jewish Agency operation that brought about the bonding of two families, both of which were divided in August 2011 when several of their members were brought to Argentina by Satmar Hasidim and the rest remained in Yemen.

Lawyers for the leaders of New York City’s Congregation Shearith Israel and Touro Synagogue in Rhode Island tell The Associated Press they were unable to agree during mediation overseen by a federal judge. The lawsuits will now move forward.

125 new IDF recruits out of 330 new immigrants arrive in Israel

 

Almost half of the Nefesh B’Nefesh flight carrying 330 new immigrants from North America are eager to serve in IDF combat units.

New immigrants were greeted at the airport by a host of Israeli dignitaries, including Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

Rocket fired by Sinai terrorists at Eilat intercepted by Iron Dome

 

Siren activated then blasts heard around the southern city.

Rocket attack comes just days after alleged Israeli drone successfully killed Al-Qaida-affiliated terrorists in the Sinai.

 

 

 

Terrorists fired a rocket at Eilat shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, triggering an air raid siren and activating the Iron Dome anti-rocket battery, which is stationed at the Red Sea city.

The Iron Dome system intercepted at least one rocket, according to initial IDF assessments.

It is unknown at this stage whether additional rockets fell in open areas outside of the city.
