Vatican pledges $125,000 for Auschwitz preservation & upkeep

 

The Vatican’s Secretary of State says, “Given our limited resources, the amount is small, but it is an expression of our full support.”
• More than 100 million euros from 31 countries was pledged to Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation for the preservation & upkeep of former Nazi death camp.

The Vatican has pledged a 100,000 euro ($125,000) donation to the preservation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum, located at the former Nazi death camp in southern Poland.

Fatah official: Palestinians who sold East Jerusalem homes to Jews should be put to death

JERUSALEM – Israeli police guarded Jewish settlers as they moved into seven homes in a Palestinian neighborhood of east Jerusalem on Tuesday.

The homes in Silwan, which sits in the shadow of Jerusalem’s Old City, were purchased by Elad, a pro-settlement group that uses funds from Jewish supporters in the United States and elsewhere to buy properties in Palestinian districts.

Tuesday’s move was the largest purchase of homes in Silwan since the process began in the neighborhood in 1986, taking to 26 the number of Jewish-owned properties, local officials said. Continue Reading »

Israel assists the transfer of starving lions from destroyed Gaza zoo to Jordan

Gaza‘s Bisan City Zoo, also home to Hamas rocket launchers, did not escape the destruction from the IDF’s attacks during ‘Operation Protective Edge’.

Among the few animals that managed to survive are 2 lions & a lioness, that are currently in a state of starvation & trauma.

Fatah SIM Smuggling Ring Busted in Israeli Prison

A sting operation by an undercover prison guard at the Ramon Prison in the Negev has resulted in the arrest of an Israeli Arab on suspicion of helping terrorist prisoners smuggle SIM cards into the jail. The cards were to be used by the terrorist prisoners for communicating with the outside world.

Temple Institute says its 2 month campaign secured over $100,000 in donations from 900 donors in 30 countries.

A 60-day international crowdfunding campaign to finance the construction of a modern Third Temple on the Temple Mount garnered $105,000 worth of donations from over 900 donors around the globe by Rosh Hashana, the Temple Institute said Sunday.

The South African Department of Health reportedly is delaying approval of an Israeli-made circumcision device after political pressure from anti-Israel trade unions.

Prepex, a nonsurgical circumcising device developed in Israel, was approved last year by the World Health Organization. Studies show it reduces the likelihood of contracting the virus that causes AIDS by nearly 60 percent.

Pop singer Lady Gaga was a fan of Israel before she performed here several weeks ago – and she’s an even bigger fan now, she told the Independent newspaper in London last weekend. Commenting on her recent show, Gaga said that “Tel Aviv was magnificent. The world view of Israel is just not reality. It’s in a beautiful place, the people are in good spirits.”

“I had a very emotional show with those fans. It was wonderful,” she added.

Archaeologists from the University of Haifa  find a dove-shaped gold pendant, bones crushed under a collapsed roof & stone catapult ammunition at dig-site near Lake Kinneret.

University of Haifa archaeologists announced Monday that they have recently discovered items which have shed light on an earthquake that occurred in 363 CE in the ancient city of Hippos which overlooks the Sea of Galilee.
