U.S. State Dept.: United States won’t protect Jewish towns from BDS boycotts

American journalist and Jewish activist Ami Horowitz was at it again recently, exposing the outrageous double standards of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

BDS targets Israel in the name of what it calls “human rights,” but at the same time all but ignores, and often times excuses, far greater humanitarian crises around the world.

To demonstrate that, Horowitz traveled to Ireland, which he described as “ground zero of the BDS movement.”

Like many, Horowitz doubted the commitment of these BDSers to actual human rights, suggesting that they instead were merely anti-Israel. Continue Reading »

#BDSfail: Swedish supermarket chain reverses Israel boycott policy

Thousands of pro-Israel activists flooded the COOP chain’s management with messages against their improper anti-Israel discrimination, threatening to boycott the supermarket chain instead, if it continues its unfair trade policy against the Jewish State.

Israel has won an important victory over the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS) when a boycott on the sale of Israeli products in a supermarket chain in Sweden has been cancelled.

The national supermarket chain COOP has 655 branches across Sweden. Israel, that was worried the boycott would spread from three local stores in the city of Varberg to all branches nationwide, launched an impressive media campaign to combat it.

Israeli Lawfare Group Threatens Coca-Cola Over BDS Threats

Legal rights group sends strongly worded letter to The Coca-Cola Company after Palestinian franchise head’s public calls promoting a boycott of Israel.

Israeli legal rights group Shurat HaDin-Israel Law Center has threatened to sue Coca-Cola on Monday, after Palestinian Arab franchise leader Zahi Khouri openly called for a boycott against Israel.

Attorneys Nitsana Darshan-Leitner and Robert Tolchin sent a strongly worded warning letter to Muhtar Kent, CEO of Coca-Cola, over Khouri’s actions.

“This letter is a warning to the Coca-Cola Company that it should rescind its franchise agreement with the Palestinian National Beverage Company, headed by Zahi Khouri, who openly advocates for BDS against Israel,” the letter warns.

US Congressional Bill Should Deter European Companies Boycotting Jewish State

The new legislation would require EU firms to provide a full account of its relations with the BDS movement against Israel and would include punitive action against companies that malign Israel, its products, or engaged in anti-Israeli activities.

Israeli officials: Demanding Israel to label products made in Judea & Samaria rewards and emboldens the Palestinians, discouraging their leaders from returning to peace talks.

Israel would be required to label products that are made in Judea and Samaria and exported to Europe under guidelines being prepared by the European Union.

The move is the latest sign of international discontent with Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria, as well as frustration over the bleak state of Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts.

UK’s new business minister blasts BDS promoters & promising to expand trade with Israel

 

LONDON – Newly appointed Business Secretary Sajid Javid condemned Britain’s National Union of Students on Monday for supporting a boycott of Israel, declaring bluntly that the group’s recent move to join the BDS movement was not only an isolated view, but one that the government and most of the country did not share.

Visiting Czech FM tells Netanyahu: Expect isolation if no change on West Bank, Gaza policies

 

The Czech Republic’s foreign minister warned Monday that it will become increasingly difficult for his country to maintain its pro-Israel position if Israel fails to take viable steps toward establishing a Palestinian state.

10 Swiss MPs: Gov’t Funding ‘Breaking the Silence’ a scandal & misuse of tax money

First US state to illegalize boycotts based on nationality hinders BDS efforts

WASHINGTON – South Carolina’s governor has signed into law a bill to stop efforts to boycott, divest and sanction Israel on Thursday afternoon, in a first for the nation on a statewide level.

European boycott of Israel is silently growing

While food-chains across the globe are appeasing violent BDS protesters who attack its Israeli merchandise, European banks are also severing their cooperation with Israeli counterparts.

In April 2012, the Co-operative, Britain’s fifth-largest food retailer, declared it would no longer be importing agricultural produce from the territories or any Israeli supplier linked to produce from there. Five years earlier, retail giant Marks & Spencer announced that it was boycotting products from the West Bank, while the Tesco supermarket chain stopped marketing dates from the Jordan Valley.

Israel’s Newest Minister Gilad Erdan Takes Aim at BDS Movement

Erdan’s notice on Facebook explained his reasons for joining Netanyahu’s coalition and objectives he plans on tackling.

 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu completed the process of forming his fourth government Monday when his no. 2 in Likud, MK Gilad Erdan, was appointed as minister of public security, strategic affairs and public diplomacy, 11 days after the rest of the cabinet.

The appointment unanimously passed a telephone vote in the cabinet and a 58-55 vote in the Knesset.
