#BDSfail: Rhetoric aside, Israel is simply too good to actually boycott

Aside from the hype & publicity stunts, manufactures and investors aren’t about to boycott one of the world’s most innovative countries on the whim of its enemies.

By David Green

It’s no secret that some of the most innovative creations and technological advances over the last few decades have been dreamed up and created in Israel. From updates to the F-16 fighter jets of the US Military, to Microsoft’s infamous Intel technology and much of the technological prowess behind Apple’s iPhones, there is no shortage of Israeli innovation throughout the modern world.

Boycott Israel? Really? Just because you said so?

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey was among this month’s targets of BDS pressure, the New York Post reported on Sunday. But the TV network owner, best known for her world-famous talk show, refused even to meet with the representatives of Adalah-NY, an advocacy group focused on boycotting Israel and Israeli products, who showed up at the New York offices of her magazine, “O,”  bearing a letter they wished her to sign, publicly rejecting the products of Uzbeki-Israeli billionaire “King of Diamonds” Lev Leviev. Op-Ed: How BDS was Exposed as the Face of Modern Anti-Semitism

view videoThe attempted disinvitation of Matisyahu’s performing in Spain has provided an invaluable glimpse into the BDS and contemporary anti-Semitism – and teaches us how to counter it.

By Ari Soffer

Debate over whether the BDS Movement – which calls for Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions against the State of Israel – is anti-Semitic has raged since its inception roughly a decade ago.

As proof of its anti-Semitism, BDS’s opponents point to the fact that it singles out the Jewish state (actually, specifically Israeli Jews and Jewish institutions/companies in Israel, not Israeli Arabs), while ignoring massive human rights violations elsewhere in the region – even, as in Syria for example, when they are carried out against other Palestinians. Israel’s TV2 introduced Israeli audience to betrayal of American group, Jewish Voice for Peace

WATCH: American Jews united with Israel’s most extreme enemies are actively seeking to strip the world’s Jews of their inalienable right to self-determination in a Jewish State.

By Yitzhak Santis/JNS.org

Israel’s Channel 2 recently dedicated a full 15 minutes to the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Reporter Danny Kushmaro brought to an Israeli audience awareness of “the Jews that stand behind the boycott of Israel.” For me, a longtime “student” of JVP, as well as many Americans, there would be little surprise to hear the venomous rhetoric disgorged by JVP activists. For an Israeli audience that never heard of JVP, however, the reaction had to have been nothing short of shock and a profound sense of betrayal. Continue Reading »

Israeli diplomacy has been diligently working in recent months to thwart the efforts of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS), and now the country is receiving assistance from an unlikely group: Illustrators.
