IDF’s Iron Dome intercepts 3 rockets as residents in Southern Israel are told to stay within protected areas.

 

 

A barrage of rockets was fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on Wednesday evening.

At least 20 missiles struck various locations near the Strip. One missile hit Sderot, and others landed in the areas near Netivot, Shaar Hanegev Regional Council and Sdot Negev. Area residents have been called to stay within protected areas.

A statement from the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that a concealed rocket launcher, a weapons storage site and a center of terrorist activity in northern Gaza were targeted.

The Israel Air Force struck on Monday evening two targets in Gaza in response to rocket fire on southern Israel earlier in the day, the IDF confirmed.

The targets hit were a military compound and a terror infrastructure site, said an IDF spokesperson, adding that both targets were accurately hit.

Hamas‘s military wing in the Gaza Strip is making a concerted effort to increase the range of its rockets by tens of kilometers.

The rocket fuel is poured into a plastic tube, then cut away and the fuel cylinder is inserted into the Qassam shell. A detonator is placed in the mixture. About 100 are made each night.
