Hamas Law Bans Co-Education & ‘Zionist’ Ties in Gaza

The newly approved education law in Gaza forbids the “receipt of gifts or aid aimed at normalizing (relations) with the Zionist occupation (Israel).”

A law banning “normalizing ties with the Zionist occupation” as well as co-education schooling in the Gaza Strip has entered into force, the education minister for Hamas, said on Monday.

The law, which was issued on February 10, was approved by the Islamist movement’s legislative council and went into effect on Sunday, Osama Mazini told a news conference.

Article 46 of the law, obtained by the AFP news agency, will “ban the mixing of students from the two sexes in educational establishments after the age of nine, and work to ‘feminize’ girls’ schools.” Continue Reading »

Hamas Chief in Cairo to Complain About ‘Israeli Truce Violations’

Ismail Haniya the leader of Hamas traveled to Cairo Saturday to complain about “Israeli violations” of truce following Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense.

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya traveled to Cairo on Saturday to discuss complaints of the terrorist movement regarding Israel’s compliance with the truce brokered by Egypt following November’s Operation Pillar of Defense.

Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nunu said Haniya would be discussing “Israeli violations of the truce,” the AFP news agency reported.

Hamas Condemns Gazan to Death by Strangulation for Spying for Israel

A man from Gaza was sentenced to death by strangulation by Hamas after he was convicted of spying for “an enemy entity”.

Gaza’s Hamas terrorist rulers have sentenced a man to death for collaborating with Israel.

A statement on Sunday by Gaza’s Interior Ministry, translated by Arab affairs expert Dalit Halevi, had said that a military court had sentenced the man to death by strangulation. He was, according to the statement, convicted of providing information to “hostile elements” in Israel.

Badr al-Din Badr, head of the communications department of the Interior Ministry, said in the statement that the agent who was sentenced to death was arrested quite some time ago by security forces, and had failed to turn himself in as part of two previous campaigns that allowed agents to turn themselves into the government and be pardoned under certain conditions. Hunger striking Palestinian prisoner Ayman Sharawna, has arrived in the Gaza Strip after reaching a deal with Israel stating he would be released from Prison and deported to the Gaza Strip for a period of 10 years went ahead.He received a hero’s welcome upon arrival.

Sharawna, a Hamas operative from the Dura village near Hebron was arrested in 2002 and sentenced to 38 years in prison after being convicted for laying the explosives in the Beersheba terror attack in which 18 people were wounded. Continue Reading »

Hamas keeps humanitarian aid from entering Gaza

The Palestinian contractor responsible for the Palestinian side decided not to open the crossing. His decision stems from attempts by Hamas to replace the current PA contractor with one of their choosing.

Hamas has been actively trying to push the Palestinian Authority out & take charge of the management of Kerem Shalom so that Hamas may collect & keep 100% of the revenue from goods that enter Gaza.

Gaza fishermen massacre endangered Giant Devil Rays

Arab media clearly showed Gaza fishermen hauling the devil rays ashore, where they were then slaughtered, but British, French & Italian media labeled the presence of hundreds of dead devil rays on Gaza shores a great mystery, claiming that they had simply washed up there.

UN group scrubs Gaza marathon over Hamas’ ban on women

UNWRA announced that the race next month was scrapped because Hamas demands that women be barred.

JERUSALEM — A U.N aid agency canceled the Gaza marathon on Tuesday after the Palestinian territory’s militant Hamas rulers banned women from participating in the annual sporting event.

UNWRA, which assists Palestinian refugees and also sponsors and organizes the event, announced that plans for the race next month have been scrapped because of the Hamas demand that women be barred.

A statement from agency said that “this disappointing decision follows discussions with the authorities in Gaza who have insisted that no women should participate” in the marathon.

Israel-Gaza border closed due to Hamas’ refusal to pay transport fees

Hamas said Monday that Israel closed the Karm Abu Salem border crossing because the Hamas-run Ministry of Economy had asked that the cost of delivering goods be reduced.

Hatem Uwaidah, a senior official with the ministry, claimed that the cost of transporting goods through the border crossing was 1200 NIS.

He said that 700 NIS of the fee goes to Israel, while the remaining 500 NIS go to the Hamas government.

Senior IDF officer reported Monday that Hamas is making at least a $1million a day in extortion money from Gaza smugglers.

Hamas is making at least a million dollars a day in “tax” money from Gaza smugglers, a senior IDF officer said Monday. Colonel Wael Tafesh, who is a top IDF officer in the IDF’s coordination unit with the Palestinian Authority, said that Hamas provided “protection” to smugglers and collected payments for the service, and often used the smugglers to order goods for their own use.
