🇭🇳 Honduran President Hernandez moves new embassy to Jerusalem 🇮🇱

Celebrating their bond with the Jewish state, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, says, “I am here today in the eternal capital of Israel to inaugurate the Embassy of Honduras in Jerusalem.”

Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez arrived in Israel to dedicate his country’s embassy in Jerusalem on Thursday, making the Latin American country the fourth to do so. Hernandez spoke at the event and praised Dr. Miriam Adelson and her late husband Sheldon Adelson for their work.

Pompeo praises Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala for blacklisting Hezbollah

Addressing Hizbollah’s activities in Central, South America, the US Secretary of State praised Colombia, Honduras, and Guatemala for designating the Iran-backed Hizbollah as a terrorist organization.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday praised Colombia, Honduras and Guatemala which designated Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

In a post on Twitter, Pompeo wrote that Hezbollah “and other transnational terrorist groups remain active in the region. The US continues to rally international support to counter these threats.”

Honduran President follows US, Guatemala by moving embassy to Jerusalem

Report: Honduras ready to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem – but for a price.

Honduras is prepared to relocate its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem – but at a price – according to a report by Channel 2 Sunday evening.

Lawmakers in the Central American nation of nine million backed the embassy move in April, passing a non-binding resolution calling on President Juan Orlando Hernandez to follow the US and Guatemala in moving their embassies to Jerusalem.

According to Channel 2 Sunday, the Hernandez administration is prepared to move the Honduran embassy to Jerusalem, and as has even drawn up a plan for undertaking the move, with a possible site already chosen for a Jerusalem embassy. Continue Reading »

Honduras, Paraguay reportedly prepared to relocate embassies to Jerusalem

Army Radio reports that should Israel’s PM Netanyahu visit both Paraguay and Honduras, their leaders will be willing to move their perspective embassies to Jerusalem.

Paraguay and Honduras said they are both ready “in principle” to relocate their embassies to Jerusalem, Army Radio reported on Sunday, citing a senior Israeli diplomatic source.

According to the report, the two countries conditioned the move on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu making an official visit to their country.

In December, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to condemn U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, with a total of 128 of the UN’s 193 members voting in favor of the resolution. Continue Reading »
