Controversy continues over the status of Israel’s Bedouin population, after several Israeli Arab MKs protested over an alleged lack of suitable bomb shelters in Bedouin communities in the South.

But the issue of Bedouin communities in Israel is more complicated, according to Regavim, a watchdog group for Jewish national property rights, which released a statement last week condemning the work of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to bring the matter to the Supreme Court. The mother, father, sister and brother of 24-year-old Woodland Hills native and fallen IDF soldier Max Steinberg, though heartbroken and jet-lagged, said they were warmed by the incredible turnout at his funeral on Mt. Herzl today.

Israel’s advocates who are disappointed in Jon Stewart’s apparent lack of support can now take comfort. There is at least one comedy icon firmly in the pro-Israel camp – Joan Rivers.

Israeli Knesset Member Questions & Condemns Absurdity of American Flight Ban

Sudden lifting of FAA flight ban after U.S. Senator Cruz asks pertinent questions suggests nefarious motives

Late Tuesday, America’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) placed a ban on all flights to Israel after a rocket fired from Gaza landed about a mile from Ben Gurion Airport. The European Union quickly followed suit, and air traffic to the Jewish state took a sudden and devastating dive.

Israeli Member of Knesset Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) pointed out the absurdity of the flight ban in a post to her Facebook profile:

UN council ignores Hamas’ firing rockets from hospitals & schools into Israel’s cities, but calls to probe Israeli “war crimes”.

The U.S. was the only country of 47-member states to oppose one-sided probe.

 

Israel attacked as a “travesty” a UN decision on Wednesday to probe its actions against Hamas in Gaza on the same day that the terrorist organization launched 80 rockets against it, targeting civilian areas.

30,000 gather at funeral to honor American ‘lone soldier’ killed in Gaza

Hamas Rocket Cache Found in Yet ANOTHER UNRWA School

Against a Canadian demand, it appears that UNRWA will once again hand over to Hamas the rockets it found hidden in a UN school in Gaza.

United Nations relief agency UNRWA has discovered, for a second time during the current war in Gaza, Hamas terror rockets stashed in one of its vacant schools.

A statement by UNRWA Tuesday said that “Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip.”

“As soon as the rockets were discovered, UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets,” the agency went on to say. Continue Reading »

7 More IDF Soldiers/Officers Killed

 

Israel’s toll among the IDF in Operation Protective Edge reaches 25 dead, 30 injured, Monday.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office stated Monday night that seven additional soldiers and officers have been killed in Gaza, as the fourteenth day of Operation Protective Edge draws to a close.

Their families have been notified.

Sergeant First Class Yuval Dagan, 22, from Kfar Saba, served in the Golani Brigade.  Dagan’s funeral will be held Monday night in the military cemetery in Kfar Saba.

Hamas Spokesman on Palestinian TV: We Are Leading Our People to Death

A senior Hamas officials last week boasted of using Gaza’s civilian population as a human shield, and confirmed that his movement is “leading our people to death.”

“The resistance (i.e., Hamas) is truly glorifying our people and our nation,” Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told Al Aqsa TV last Monday.

As sirens blared at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, warning of incoming rockets on Thursday, a group of Israeli surgeons continued to operate on a Palestinian baby, alongside an Israeli child, in the intensive care ward, which is not adequately protected from rocket strikes.
