IDF officials accuse PA of ‘incompetence’ after 2 Israeli soldiers murdered

IDF officials say Abbas’ PA security forces have done little as far as arresting terrorists recently, & that no one has yet been tried by a Palestinian court over the past year.

 

Senior Israeli security sources on Monday accused the Palestinian Authority and its security services of “complete incompetence” in fighting terrorism, following the killing of two Israel Defense Forces soldiers in the West Bank over the past few days.

An Israeli soldier was killed on Sunday in a shooting attack near the West Bank city of Hebron.

The victim was named as Staff Sergeant Gal (Gabriel) Kobi, 20, of Tirat Hacarmel. He was evacuated to the Hadassah Hospital Ein Karem for treatment, and died of his wounds. Continue Reading »

The EU ambassador in Israel called the Foreign Ministry Deputy Director-General for Europe Rafi Shutz on Saturday, to express concern over an altercation that took place between EU diplomats and Israeli soldiers in the West Bank on Friday.

5 Palestinian fisherman get year in jail by Egyptian military court


The 5 Palestinian men were sentenced for illegally infiltrating into Egyptian waters in North Sinai bordering Gaza & Israel.

An Egyptian military court on Wednesday sentenced five Palestinian fishermen to a year in jail for illegally crossing into Egypt’s territorial waters, Egyptian security sources said.

“The court had arrested five Palestinians recently for crossing without permits to the Egyptian waters in North Sinai (that borders Israel and the Palestinian Gaza enclave),” one security source said. Clashes erupted early Thursday between Palestinians and Israeli security forces at Joseph’s Tomb in the northern West Bank, as some 1,400 Jewish worshipers gathered for prayers at the holy site.

At least 15 Arab stone-throwers arrested as Palestinians & police clash on Temple Mount

Israel Police use stun grenades to disperse crowd of youths throwing stones at them.

Similar Arab violence took place only days earlier.

 

 

At least 15 arrests were made at the Temple Mount on Friday, as Palestinian youths and police clashed at the sacred site only days after similar clashes took place there.

The youths threw stones at the police officers, who were at Mughrabi Gate entrance to the site in the Old City of Jerusalem. Police entered the Temple Mount and used stun grenades to disperse the crowd. Continue Reading »

Pro-Palestinian hackers change Google’s Palestine Web page

Google.ps, has been ‘redesigned’ by hackers, apparently objecting to the Google Maps labeling of  Israel and the Palestinian borders.

 

 

JERUSALEM — Pro-Palestinian hackers calling for changing Israel to Palestine on Google Maps hacked the Google Palestine Web page.

The hackers on Monday diverted traffic from google.ps and redirected users to a hacked version of Google’s homepage.

“uncle google we say hi from Palestine to remember you that the country in google map not called israel. Its called Palestine,” the hacked page read.

The hackers also said on the page that changing “Isreal” on Google Maps to “Palestine” would be “revolution.”

Where are the Palestinian leaders? Where are the Palestinian representatives? Where are the  ‘pro-Palestinians advocates?

Where’s Abbas, Barghouti, Ashrawi, Haniya, Zoabi, Zahar, Erekat, Mashaal, or Ashrawi?

Thousands of Palestinians are suffering or butchered and the world is silent. No ‘flotillas’ of aid or rescue are on the drawing-board. No one cares only because they can’t demonize,  delegitimize or blame Israel.

Kerry tells US Jewish leaders: Palestinian-Israeli peace a ‘strategic imperative’

The meeting Thursday evening in the White House lasted 90 minutes, participants said, and was characterized mostly by Kerry’s enthusiasm for the resumed talks, and the serious commitment he said saw from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Kerry appeared bullish about talks he has worked assiduously to revive since becoming secretary of state in February, but also nervous about the potential for failure, warning of circumstances – for instance, pressures on Netanyahu – that could undermine the talks. Continue Reading »

Steinitz: Israel prepared for ‘serious territorial concessions’ for peace deal

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz says his gov’t ready to make ‘serious territorial concessions’ since the only possible solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a 2-state solution with demilitarized Palestinian state.

Intelligence and Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz told the Daily Telegraph Friday that Israel is willing to make “considerable concessions” within the framework of an agreement with the Palestinians. Steinitz also said that a demilitarized Palestinian state is the only possible solution.

Prime Minister to refer referendum bill for cabinet vote Sunday

Proposed bill would not require public approval for withdrawal from Judea and Samaria because Israeli law isn’t applicable there, but PM says he has way around that.

 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to bring in the referendum bill for a cabinet vote on Sunday, and then submit it to the Knesset for a preliminary vote on Wednesday before the parliament disbands for summer recess.

IDF snatches Palestinian suspected of shooting at Israeli buses in West Bank

A Palestinian suspected of shooting at buses in the Judea and Samaria District of the West Bank was arrested Thursday by the Israel Defense Forces.

According to authorities, an IDF soldier was riding a bus near the West Bank village of Hawara Thursday afternoon when he saw a Palestinian aiming a handgun at the bus. The suspect was about 15 meters away from the bus, the soldier reportedly told authorities. Continue Reading »
