US national security adviser Susan Rice hosted a delegation led by Yaakov Amidror, the chairman of Israel’s National Security Council. The meetings were part of a series of regular high-level bilateral consultations and touched on Iran, Egypt, Syria, and other regional security issues, the White House said.

A leading supporter of the Hezbollah terrorist group was assassinated in Tripoli on Thursday.

Al-Mouri was gunned down by “masked men on motorbikes,” along with a security official and a bystander, according to a security source quoted by the Lebanese Naharnet website.

IDF Retaliates After Syrian Shells Target Golan Heights

IDF Radio reported Saturday evening that the Israeli response destroyed a Syrian military position, the source of the attack on Israel.

The Israeli army fired into Syria after shells from the neighboring country hit the Israeli side of the Golan Heights on Saturday, a military spokesman said. IDF Radio reported the Israeli attack demolished a Syrian military position.

“Today, several shells fired from Syria landed in the central Golan heights, adjacent to the Israel-Syria border,” the spokesman told AFP.

A 15-year-old Syrian girl critically wounded in her nation’s ongoing civil war has made a miraculous recovery at a hospital in northern Israel.

Doctors at Ziv Hospital in the Galilee town of Safed (Tsfat) were shocked when the girl got up and walked around just one day after having her leg amputated as a result of massive shrapnel injuries.

Syrian rebel forces claim they killed at least 40 Hezbollah and Iranian fighters in Damascus, according to Israel Radio.

The rebels say they detonated a car bomb near a compound where the operatives from Iran and Hezbollah gathered for a meeting, Israel Radio reported. These claims could not be independently corroborated.

Last month, the UN Security Council called on Lebanese Hezbollah militants to end any involvement in the conflict in neighboring Syria, while Lebanon’s UN envoy pledged that his country would keep its borders open to Syrians fleeing the violence.

The teenager was wounded during clashes in the Syrian civil war and was transferred to Ziv Hospital in Safed for treatment.

Syrian Gunfire Hits Close to IDF Soldiers

An IDF patrol in the northern Golan Heights was almost hit by gunfire originating in Syria. No injuries reported.

Gunfire from the Syrian side of the border hit close to an IDF patrol in the northern Golan Heights on Thursday night. There were no injuries or damages.

The IDF believes that the fire was not directed at the Israeli soldiers and was part of the ongoing fighting between the Syrian army and the rebels fighting to oust President Bashar Al-Assad.

Four more seriously injured Syrians sent to Israeli Hospital

Four Syrians including an eight-year-old girl were brought to a hospital in Israel after they were wounded by fighting in the war-torn country, a medical source said on Tuesday.

“Yesterday night an injured eight-year-old girl and her 48-year-old mother were treated for fractures to their arms and legs from shrapnel,” said a spokesman for Ziv hospital in Tzfat, north of the Sea of Galilee. Continue Reading »
