Draped as ‘coronavirus aid’, UN funds Palestinian terror-linked groups

REPORT: NGO Monitor found that the UN & World Health Organization facilitated millions of dollars of emergency COVID-19 funding from Canada, the EU, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and the UK to Palestinian organizations with links to terrorism.

Millions of dollars of international funding for the Palestinians’ coronavirus emergency response, coordinated by the World Health Organization and UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have gone to organizations with links to terrorism, a new report by NGO Monitor found.

The research institution focused on the funding of non-governmental organizations found that several of the groups funded by OCHA and the WHO are tied to the People’s Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Israel, the EU, US and Canada, and had staff members arrested and indicted late last year for the murder of 17-year-old Israeli Rina Schnerb. Palestinian leaders livid after EU conditions aid on ending ties with terror groups

Palestinian leaders unite sending protest letters to European Union officials, claiming groups like Hamas are merely political parties not terror organizations, noting the EU stipulation nullifies their national “struggle against Israeli occupation,” demanding continued EU funding without restrictions.

The Palestinian Authority has launched a broad public political campaign to convince the European Union to rescind its decision to prohibit monetary aid to PA-affiliated organizations and institutions if it doesn’t sever all ties with terrorist groups.

“The national Palestinian campaign to reject conditional funding” has picked up steam in recent weeks, after the EU, for the first time, introduced a fundamental change to the financial aid contracts Palestinian bodies are required to sign, whereby any cooperation with terrorist organizations will result in the unilateral cessation of funding by the EU. European Court of Justice considers removing Hamas from terrorist organization blacklist

 

UNBELIEVABLE: The European Court of Justice’s advocate-general recommends that the court uphold the lower court’s ruling, and remove Hamas from being listed as a terror group.
– Will the EU ignore #PalestinianDeathCulture?

The European Court of Justice is due to decide on Wednesday whether to keep Hamas listed as a terror organization.

The listing is important because it keeps various Hamas funds frozen, limits Hamas from openly doing business in the EU and limits the mobility of Hamas-affiliated persons.

Although the US lists Hamas as a terror organization, the idea of the EU listing Hamas as a terror group has already received two major blows in recent years. Continue Reading »
