Israeli lab discovers alarming amount of ‘Sunset Yellow’ in US-produced M&Ms

 

The manufacturing process for European M&Ms leave the product at acceptable levels because they use natural food dyes.

Now, a Class-action lawsuit was filed against American manufacturer & the Israeli importer of the US-made chocolates.

US-produced M&M chocolate candy, which is imported to and sold in Israel, was found to contain artificial food coloring at levels far exceeding limits set by Israel’s health ministry, a report by Israeli Channel 2 revealed on Thursday.

The food coloring used in the production of the famous chocolate lentils, more specifically the color “Sunset Yellow” used to make the orange M&Ms, contains a petroleum-based dye, which, if present in elevated levels, can increase hyperactivity in children, Dr Ilana Dariel, a clinical dietician, told Channel 2. Israel’s Figure Skater Bychenko Advances to 2nd Day

Israel’s Alexei Bychenko will be among the 24 skaters to take part in Friday’s free program of the men’s figure skating event after finishing in 22nd place in Thursday’s short program at the Sochi Olympics.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva at a Washington D.C. security conference, Franks contradicted a recent claim by Israel’s ambassador to the US that US Secretary of State John Kerry wasn’t threatening Israel when he warned of boycotts in the event that current negotiations with the Palestinian Authority fall through. The conference, entitled “American Security and the Iranian Bomb: Analyzing Threats at Home and Abroad,” saw several prominent members of Congress and former CIA Director James Woolsey discuss the threat posed to the US by the Islamic Republic. “I want to clarify my perspective,” wrote Saudi Prince published in the Saudi newspaper of questions posed by Israelis at int’l conference in Munich.

 

 

Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal sought to explain why he was in contact with Israelis at the Munich Security Conference last month in an article published on Thursday in the Saudi newspaper Al Riyadh.

Hezbollah cancels annual rally after security concerns for its chief

 

Following a number of suicide bombings targeted Hezbollah’s stronghold, Shiite group cancels annual public rally, choosing instead for closed-circuit televised speech by Nasrallah from his hidden underground bunker.

Hamas rejects UN textbooks promoting human rights in Gaza schools

The Hamas gov’t believes the UN curriculum does not represent the ‘ideology & philosophy’ of the Palestinian population, reports Hamas spokesman for the Education Ministry.

 

Gaza‘s Hamas authorities have blocked a UN refugee agency from introducing  into local schools, saying it ignores Palestinian cultural and focuses too heavily on “peaceful” means of conflict resolution.

Motesem al-Minawi, spokesman for the Hamas-run Education Ministry, said Thursday that the government believes the curriculum does not match the “ideology and philosophy” of the local population.

He said the textbooks, used in grades 7 through 9, did not sufficiently address Palestinian suffering and did not acknowledge the right to battle Israel.

Denmark Joins Poland, Holland & Switzerland in Kosher Slaughter Ban

Next week Denmark is to join the growing list of EU countries in banning kosher slaughter.

Denmark on Thursday joined the growing list of European countries to ban kosher slaughter. The ban is to take effect next week, after Denmark’s Agriculture Minister signed the order Thursday.

The ban is largely symbolic, because there are currently no kosher slaughterhouses in Denmark. Nearly all meat for the country’s small Jewish community is imported. Despite this, the country’s 6,000 Jews inundated government offices with protests over the ban.

‘Love Boat’ experience quite shocking for Israeli couple

 

Israeli couple on romantic vacation cruise horrified to notice they were being observed by crew members as they were having sex.

 

 

An Israeli couple who recently endured a “love boat” experience gone awry will be compensated by the cruise-ship company, Channel 2 news reports.

According to the report, the couple, who took a cruise to Venice to celebrate the man’s 65th birthday, marked the milestone with some post-swimming copulation. During the act, however, they were embarrassed to discover crew members watching them from a nearby balcony.

Palestinian attempting to damage Gaza fence shot by IDF soldiers

 

After warnings went unheeded by group who entered closed security zone and continued in attempt to sabotage Israel’s border security fence, IDF soldiers opened fire.

IDF soldiers fired on Palestinian suspects who approached a closed security zone on the border between northern Gaza and Israel on Thursday, and attempted to damage the fence.

Palestinian sources said that one man was killed and another wounded in the incident.

An army spokeswoman said a group of suspects entered the zone and began sabotaging the security fence, and that soldiers dispatched to the area attempted to persuade them to leave.

17 yr-old Israeli youth arrested with gun given by Saddam Hussein

A teenager from Kafr Qasem was arrested in the Sharon region on Thursday, while in possession of a gun apparently handed out by Saddam Hussein.

The 17 year-old was carrying a handgun inscribed with the message: “A present from Iraqi President Saddam Hussein for one who defends the homeland”.
