Jewish Establishments in India Warned to Strengthen its Security

REPORT: Jewish establishments in Mumbai have been surveyed by Indian Mujahideen members for possible terrorist strikes.

Amid a terror threat, Jewish establishments in India have been instructed by police to tighten security in and around their businesses.

The call came following the interrogation of Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal by the National Investigation Agency in New Delhi, as well as in the wake of the Islamist attack on an upscale mall in Nairobi, Kenya.

Somali militants report: Israeli forces attempted to storm Nairobi mall

Somali Islamist group al Shabaab said on Monday Israeli and Kenyan forces have tried to enter the besieged Nairobi shopping center but we unsuccessful, Reuters reported, citing the group’s spokesman.

Brussels Could Reinstate Kosher Slaughter in Poland

Former Deputy Prime Minister says Poland’s recent ban on kosher slaughter must be rescinded as it is in violation of EU Laws.

The Polish lawyer representing the European Jewish Association (EJA), says a Polish ban of kosher ritual slaughter is illegal and should be overturned immediately.

Roman Giertuch, who is also a former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, says the ban was adopted in violation of a European law that requires formal notification of the EU Commission for a legislation that contravenes EU regulations.

Spain’s ruling People’s Party recently submitted the proposed amendment to the education law for approval by Spain’s lower house, according to a report Wednesday in the El Pais daily.

If passed, the proposed amendment would introduce the genocide of Jews by Nazi Germany into the curriculum “at various stages of basic education,” the Spanish news agency Europa Press reported Thursday. Continue Reading »

Memorial plans for Munich Olympics Massacre unveiled

Bavarian Minister of Education & Cultural said the memorial will attempt to address questions about the impact of the attack and the importance of remembrance.

 

BERLIN — Plans for a memorial in Munich to 11 Israelis and a German police officer murdered at the 1972 Summer  Olympics there were unveiled.

Munich Olympic MassacreWednesday’s news conference at the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs announcing plans for the memorial took place a day before a ceremony in Israel marking the 41st anniversary of the attack by the Palestinian terrorist group Black September.

The planned hall of remembrance is slated to be built near the site that housed the games and will cost 1.7 million euros (approximately $2.25 million).

Quebec to ban Jewish men wearing kippa in public

 

 

According to the new Charter of Quebec Values, skullcaps (kippa or yarmulke), religious jewelery,  & religious garments will be prohibited throughout public sector.

Canadian Jewish community outraged, where many compare initiative to Putin’s homophobic legislation.

If you are a Jewish doctor in the Canadian health care system in Quebec, you may soon be forbidden to wear a skullcap. As part of the Charter of Quebec Values that is being developed these days in the Canadian province, employees of the public service will not be allowed to put on or wear religious symbols or garments.
