“The Diary of Anne Frank” has been an important part of the curriculum in North American classrooms since its initial publication in 1947. The candid diaries share the young Jewish girl’s thoughts and experiences while hiding from Nazis during their occupation of the Netherlands.

Dutch-Turkish Volunteer Harassed for Criticizing Holocaust Supporters

The Mayor suggested that Mehmet Sahin go into hiding after criticizing youth who praised Hitler on TV, then warned by court to refrain from “insults” when talking to the young Turkish anti-Semites.

Several major Dutch newspapers have published that Dutch-Turkish volunteer Mehmet Sahin, is being harassed and intimidated by other Turks – almost on a daily basis. He had comitted the “sin” of admonishing three youngsters from his community who praised the Holocaust, Hitler and the killing of Jewish babies in February on TV.

Church of Scotland says Jews have no rights in reclaiming Land of Israel

 

The report, titled “The inheritance of Abraham? A report on the ‘promised land’” argues that, “Christians should not be supporting any claims by Jews, or any other people, to an exclusive or even privileged divine right to possess particular territory.”

Scottish Jews said they were “outraged” by a recent Church of Scotland paper which denies Jews any special claim to the land of Israel.

Arab man shoots at two people in Wadi Kelt, none hurt. IDF investigating

A terrorist opened fire at two people on Thursday evening in Wadi Kelt, near Mitzpeh Yericho. The two were attacked as they sat in a car.

The two people targeted, an Israeli woman from Mevaseret Tzion and a European tourist, were not hurt.

The two told police that they had been touring the area when they noticed an Arab man nearby acting suspiciously. When they returned to their car, he attempted to shoot them.

The IDF is investigating the incident. A unit pursued the shooter, who apparently fled to the wadi. Continue Reading »

Former Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon testified on Thursday against former Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, in the latter’s trial on charges of fraud and breach of trust in the “ambassador affair.”

Ayalon is the only witness who claims Lieberman actively promoted former ambassador Zeev Ben Aryeh for the Latvia ambassador post.

Iraqi children come to Israel for heart surgery

180 Iraqi children have been treated in Israeli operating rooms in past decade.

Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar approved Sunday the arrival of three Iraqi children – aged one, four and five – to Israel, in order to receive lifesaving medical care at the Edith Wolfson Medical Center in Holon. The three are expected to arrive at the Israeli hospital within the next few days.

Judge: ‘Women shouldn’t have been arrested at Western Wall’

JERUSALEM  — Women praying together out loud at the Western Wall in prayer shawls did not disturb the public order and should not have been arrested, an Israeli court found.

French Jewish Students lodge new complaint over Twitter’s anti-Semitism

The suit filed concerns tweets which still appear on Twitter, which call for killing Jews & praising the Holocaust.

A French Jewish group which last month sued Twitter for hosting anti-Semitic content has lodged a fresh complaint against the company and accused it of lying.

The latest complaint by the Union of Jewish Students of France, or UEJF, was filed on April 12 with the Paris Public Prosecutor’s office against Twitter President and Director Dick Costolo. UEJF and another group, J’ACCUSE, said in the complaint that Costolo was “responsible for racial defamation and publicly inciting to discrimination, hate or violence toward Jews.” Continue Reading »

Websites & media outlets post photo of Haredi man inside a large plastic bag during his flight to Israel, sparked  speculation as to his motives.

A photo posted on Facebook showing a Ben-Gurion Airport flight has caught the attention of international media. In the picture, a haredi man can be seen sitting in his seat on a commercial flight wrapped in a large plastic bag.
