Michael Mendelson’s group, Help Report Hate & Anti Semitic Pages has planned a Major Rally at Facebook HQ, Menlo Park Calif. on October 14, 2013, 10am.

The Rally is meant to force Facebook to recognize its social media platform is used to propagate hatred & abuse directed against Jews & Israel.

AGAIN: Discussions on ‘Occupied Palestinian Territories’ at UN

 

With all the world’s conflicts, the only permanent agenda point on the Geneva-based UNHRC roster for discussion is, the “Human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories”.

NEW YORK – The UN Human Rights Council in Geneva met on Monday to discuss item seven on its agenda – the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including East Jerusalem.

Item seven is the only permanent agenda item on the UNHRC’s roster. Israel’s representative in Geneva was reportedly not present for the discussion.

In a statement issued by MP Philipp Missfedler, the Bundestag spokesman for German chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party and its coalition partner the Bavarian Christian Social Union, he stated the guidelines are “pure ideology and symbolic politics” and will not contribute to finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

London-UAE cable car deal included an Israeli boycott

London’s main transportation agency has come under fire for a deal with a United Arab Emirates-based company that excludes Israel from future business dealings.

Transport for London signed a 10-year partnership deal with Emirates Air Line on the Thames cable car, which opened in June 2012 ahead of the London Olympics.

According to the 2011 contract, which was revealed by the online watchdog group MayorWatch through a Freedom of Information request, Transport for London agreed to abide by the UAE’s foreign policy in the deal.

Saudi citizen sentenced to 15 years jail for attempting to aid Israel

The defendant was convicted of telling security personnel at the Israeli Embassy in Jordan about his willingness to cooperate with them including passing information they want to know about Saudi Arabia.

A man was arrested, charged and convicted of attempting to aid Israel, according to court proceedings in Saudi Arabia. Now, the man was sentenced to 15 years jail. The judge rejected the prosecutor’s demand to sentence the man to execution.

A Special Criminal Court in Jeddah sentenced 21 defendants, who were accused of terrorism-related charges, to different terms of imprisonment over the past two weeks.

One defendant, who was convicted of attempted spying for Israel, was given 15 years in prison and a travel ban for a similar period after serving the jail time.

BERLIN – A female Muslim student at the University of Duisburg-Essen ripped down parts of a graphic novel exhibit, which included the work of the internationally known Israeli artist Rutu Modan.

The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel found itself a friend in major American newspaper USA Today recently, when a press release about its efforts to have Alicia Keys cancel her upcoming show in Israel appeared almost verbatim in an article on the newspaper’s website.
