An IDF tank shelled and destroyed a Hamas military post in the Gaza Strip on Monday in response to gunfire opened at Israelis soldiers earlier.

The soldiers were securing civilian engineering work near the Gaza border fence in the southern part of the strip when they came under fire by Palestinian militants.

Israel Begins to Build Anti-Infiltrator Fence on its Jordan Border

 

The fence, aimed at stopping infiltrators from the east, will begin at Israel’s southern border with Jordan near Eilat going northwards for 30 kilometers.

In seeking solutions to help tackle the massive migrant crises enveloping European nations, Hungary & Bulgaria are inquiring about Israeli designed border fences & security systems.

Faced with a surge in migration from the Middle East and North Africa, two European countries are exploring the possibility of erecting towering steel security fences along parts of their borders, similar to Israel’s barrier with Egypt. 

Hungary and Bulgaria have made preliminary inquiries about buying the Israeli-designed fences, according to an Israeli business source who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the discussions.

A Palestinian Arab man was killed and another wounded by Israeli gunfire in the northern Gaza Strip Friday after they approached the border with Israel, a medical official told the AFP news agency.

Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said 27-year-old Mohammad Al-Masri died of his wounds after being shot near the border fence west of the Beit Lahiya area.

A serious security mishap occurred on Saturday morning, as two people succeeded in breaching the Israeli border from Jordan despite IDF preparations, in an incident raising fears about the possibility of foreign terrorists freely infiltrating into the Jewish state.

IDF trackers were dispatched as soon as the breach was identified, reports Walla!, and at the scene they found footprints leading to Highway 90 between Grofit and Yotvata in the Arava region of the Negev to the north of Eilat, in an area just to the east of Ovda Airport.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office said it identified two Palestinians approaching the security fence in the northern part of the border. When they did not adhere to warning calls to stop in their tracks, Israeli soldiers opened fire at the legs of the Gaza residents, the army said, confirming a direct hit.

“Earlier today, two Hezbollah-affiliated terrorists were identified attempting to plant an explosive device near the Israel-Syria border in the northern Golan Heights. IDF forces… fired towards the suspects (and) hits were identified,” the army said in a statement.

A group of suspicious figures approached the fence in the middle of the night, and attempted to blow up the barrier.
