Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, on Tuesday addressed the UN General Assembly as the UN marked “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People”, which takes place annually on November 29, the day in which the UN in 1947 approved the Partition Plan, which recommended the partition of then-Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state.

During “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People”, the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) delegation to the UN initiates a special session which it uses as an annual occasion to pass a number of anti-Israel resolutions. Continue Reading »

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was selected for the position on Wednesday, and Israel Ambassador to the UN immediately hailed the decision.

Haley is a “longstanding and true friend of Israel,” wrote Danon in a statement that went on to note the governor’s “outspoken [fight] against the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement in her state and throughout the US.” Continue Reading »

Iran is smuggling weapons and ammunition to Hezbollah through commercial flights from the Islamic Republic to Lebanon, according to intelligence information revealed by Israel’s UN ambassador to the Security Council, which was cleared for publication on Tuesday.

UN General Assembly passes Israeli resolution, “Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development”

 

Israel’s envoy to the UN, Danny Danon, says about the resolution passed in Friday’s General Assembly, “This resolution is further proof of the important contributions that Israel makes to the world as a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.”

NEW YORK – The United Nations General Assembly approved an Israeli-sponsored resolution on Friday, focusing on international innovation and development and ways to help some to remove the obstacles entrepreneurs face internationally.

The resolution, entitled “Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development,” states that by promoting entrepreneurship education through capacity-building, training programs, and business incubators, access and opportunities for women, youth and individuals with disabilities can increase as well.
