Historic First: Israel co-sponsors Saudi resolution at UN Human Rights Council

Although Jerusalem has supported resolutions against Syrian Human Rights violations in the past, including those submitted by Saudi Arabia, Israel has never co-sponsored a resolution with the Saudis.

Israel co-sponsored a Saudi resolution against the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad at the United Nations Human Rights Council on Tuesday for the first time.

The resolution passed; with 108 countries voting in favor, 17 against and 58 abstaining.Israel has in the past supported similar resolutions, including those submitted by Saudi Arabia, but has never co-sponsored such a resolution alongside Riyadh. Continue Reading »

Israel’s Ambassador Danon begins term as UN General Assembly vice president

As General Assembly vice president, Ambassador Danny Danon will lead meetings & oversee the agendas for the 72nd session, beginning 13/Sep/2017.
• Coincidentally, Amb.Danon will be expected to preside over Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the General Assembly this coming Tuesday.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon’s term as vice president of the U.N. General Assembly began Wednesday as the body’s 72nd session got underway.

Next Tuesday, when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addresses the assembly, Danon will preside over the meeting.

Israel exposes Hizbollah ‘mole’ within Lebanese Army to UNIFIL command

Israel has informed the UN peacekeeping mission in south Lebanon that a senior officer in the Lebanese army, who presides over a command position near the country’s border with Israel, is using his position to advance interests of the Hezbollah terror group in the area.

PLO ‘Deception Master’ tells UN, “Hamas & PFLP are not terrorist organizations”

 

Pointing out the obvious deception, Danny Danon, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN articulated, “These are lies and incitement from those who are paying terrorists to kill innocent Israelis.”

NEW YORK – “Hamas and the PFLP are not terrorist organizations,” Saeb Erekat, secretary- general of the PLO, said on Thursday at the “UN Forum Marking 50 Years of Occupation.”

Erekat made the comment in response to a question from The Jerusalem Post regarding recent Israeli allegations that some of the organizations participating in the event were linked to the two groups.

UN agency accuses Israel of extrajudicial executions omitting they were armed terrorists

 

A United Nations group has charged Israel in their report of using “force that has at times been deemed excessive” against the Palestinians, “which may have amounted to extrajudicial executions.”

The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) accused Israel in a report Wednesday of using “force that has at times been deemed excessive” against the Palestinians, “which may have amounted to extrajudicial executions.”According to ECOSOC, from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017, Israeli security forces killed 63 Palestinians, including 19 children, and wounded 2,276 others, including 562 children.

US Envoy to the UN, Nikki Haley: Latest UNHRC report also ‘reeks of anti-Israel bias’

 

In the statement issued to the UNHRC, Haley wrote, “This report is just the latest example of the Human Rights Council singling out Israel rather than focusing on the world’s actual human rights abusers. Not only does it undermine the credibility of the Human Rights Council on human rights issues, but it once again highlights the unfair bias of the UN when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

Another Arab controlled UN report equates Israel to American slavery

 

The same Arab dominated UN committee whose report set off a firestorm leading to its withdrawal as libel, and the resignation of its author, UN Under-Secretary-General Rima Khalaf, means to try again in June, this time equating “the Israeli Occupation” to slavery in the United States.

The UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is expected to publish a report equating “the Israeli Occupation” to slavery in the United States and put the financial damages suffered by Palestinians as a result of “50 years of occupation” in the billions of dollars.

Obsessed UN angered over deer photo included in Israeli Nature Exhibition

 

UN officials ask Israel’s delegation to remove the picture of two deers from THE NATURAL SIDE OF ISRAEL photo exhibition, because they claim it was taken in the Jordan Valley, which is outside the 1949 cease-fire line, not really ‘in Israel’.

UN officials contacted Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, to ask him to remove a picture of two deer from an Israeli exhibition at the General Assembly headquarters in New York.

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, led a delegation of 14 UN ambassadors to Israel as part of a project initiated by the American Jewish Committee and the Israeli delegation at the United Nations.

The delegation was attended by countries such as Argentina, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Mexico, Uganda, Georgia, Jamaica and Micronesia.
