Bulgaria seeks extradition from Lebanon of 2 Hezbollah bus bomb terrorists

Bulgaria’s Chief prosecutor: 3rd Bombing suspect in the terror attack on an Israeli tour bus to Burgas has been officially identified, but not publicly revealed.

Bulgaria’s chief prosecutor  Sotir Tsatsarov said on Friday that the authorities transferred the investigation of the terror attack on an Israeli bus to Burgas; the  Black Sea resort which was the location of the 2012 attack resulting in the deaths of five Israelis and their Bulgarian bus driver.

Tsatsarov said again on Friday the identity of the third suspect—the alleged bomber who died during the terrorist attack on Israelis tourists— has been identified, but not revealed.  Continue Reading »

Hezbollah: Golan Attack on IDF Jeep was Kidnapping Attempt

A Hezbollah sources reported that the explosion on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights Tuesday that injured 4 IDF soldiers was a failed kidnapping attempt.

Hezbollah sources said Tuesday that an explosion on the Golan Heights that injured four IDF soldiers had been an attempt to kidnap soldiers. The kidnapping attempt was reported by Al-Manar television, a Lebanese news outlet associated with Hezbollah. The reported quoted Hezbollah sources as saying that although the attempt failed “this time, we are sure we will succeed in the near future.”

Israel steaming after UK justifies Hezbollah’s terrorism

 

UK’s ambassador to Lebanon said Europe does not view Hezbollah ‘resistance’ to Israel as terrorism.

Israel filed a strong protest with the British government after the UK ambassador in Lebanon, Tom Fletcher, stated that the inclusion of Hezbollah’s military wing on the European Union’s list of terrorist organizations had nothing to do with Hezbollah’s “resistance” against Israel.

At least 20 people have been killed by a large explosion in a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut, with at least 212 reported wounded.

Lebanon’s Daily Star reported that the blast took place on the main road between Rwais and Bir al-Abed. The neighborhood is a stronghold of Hezbollah.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (JTA) — The effectiveness of the European Union’s decision to blacklist only Hezbollah’s military wing might be debatable, but one thing about the move seems certain: It did not come easy.

The decision Monday by Europe’s 28 foreign ministers to put Hezbollah’s military wing on the EU list of terrorist organizations followed months of jostling by member states in the wake of last summer’s killing of five Israelis and a Bulgarian in a bus bombing near the Black Sea resort of Burgas.

Hizbullah’s armed wing wired almost $100,000 (75,000 euros) to two men wanted over a bomb attack that killed five Israeli tourists in Bulgaria last year, a local newspaper reported Friday, according to the AFP news agency.

The Sofia report into the Hezbollah suicide bombing that killed 5 Israelis & a local, names a Canadian & an Australian citizen as prime suspects.

The Bulgarian authorities have released the names of two people believed to be involved in the Burgas bus bomb terrorist attack last year that killed five Israelis and their Bulgarian bus driver according to the Bulgarian news agency Focus.

Meliad Farah and Hassan El Hajj Hassan, who are suspected of involvement in the Burgas bus bombing.

The two were identified as 32-year-old Australian citizen Meliad Farah, also known as Hussein Hussein, and 25-year old Canadian Citizen Hassan El Hajj

In the days around the attack, the suspects had been noticed in Ruse, Varna and Nesebar, the Sunny Beach resort, and in the village of Ravda, according to the report.

Nigeria adds charges against 3 suspected Hezbollah terrorists

BERLIN – Nigeria’s security agency issued last week new terrorism charges against three Lebanese men suspected of membership in Hezbollah who were captured with a massive weapons cache.

The Nigerian media outlet Vanguard reported on Saturday that a legal representative for Nigeria’s State Security Service, Clifford Osagie, termed Hezbollah’s military wing a terrorist entity.

Nigeria’s military said in May that the weapons were to be used in attacks on American and Israeli targets.

BRUSSELS (JTA) — Bulgaria claims it has previously undisclosed evidence that further implicates Hezbollah in a deadly terrorist attack last year on Bulgarian soil, JTA has learned.

A Bulgarian representative to the European Union said Wednesday that investigators have discovered that a Hezbollah operative was the owner of a printer used to produce fake documents that facilitated the July 19 bombing of a bus filled with Israeli tourists in Burgas.
