United Nations Dismisses Wife-Beating by Palestinians as Natural Reaction to ‘Israeli Occupation’

Britain, France, Germany and other EU states joined the UN jackals to demonize Israel

Had the EU wanted, they could have set the record straight, and taken a stand against such baseless demonization of the Jewish state. Disgracefully, however, Britain, France, Germany and the other EU states joined the UN jackals by voting against Israel, as the world’s only violator of health rights.

By UN Watch

The UK, France, Germany and other EU states voted today for a UN resolution, co-sponsored by the Arab group of states and the Palestinian delegation, that singled out Israel at the annual assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO) as the only violator of “mental, physical and environmental health,” and commissioned a WHO delegation to investigate and report on “the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory” and in “the occupied Syrian Golan,” and to place it on the agenda again at next year’s meeting. The students asked great questions and we had an interesting discussion. One of the students asked me about Israel's complex relationship with the UN.Although they were all law students, my answer was mathematical:22 Arab states56 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation132 'Non Aligned Movement'And what is the result?A triple standard. One standard for 86 democratic countries.A second standard for 106 non-democracies.And finally - a very special standard for the world's one and only Jewish state - Israel. This is the UN's "Triple Standard" equation.

One of the students asked me about Israel’s complex relationship with the UN.

Although they were all law students, my answer was mathematical:

22 Arab states
56 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
132 ‘Non Aligned Movement’

And what is the result?

A triple standard.
One standard for 86 democratic countries. Continue Reading »
