Israel Air Force scrambles jets due to unidentified aircraft

Just like last week, Israeli fighter jets thundered over Tel Aviv on their way to intercept a suspicious signal which again, turned out to be a flock of birds.

 

Israel Air Force fighter jets were scrambled on Saturday morning to north and south Israel, apparently because of an unidentified aircraft that entered Israeli airspace. IDF Spokesman declined to comment, saying it does not provide detail on IAF activity.

Israel Air Force Strikes Back at Lebanon Following Rocket Attack

Israeli aircraft struck a terror target south of Beirut on Thursday night, said the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.

According to the statement, a direct hit was identified and all aircraft returned safely to their bases.

The IDF statement said that the airstrike came in response to Thursday afternoon’s rocket attack from Lebanon at northern Israel.

Egypt:There Was NO Israeli Airstrike in Sinai

Spokesman for the Egyptian army: ‘There is no truth whatsoever that Israel attacked in the Sinai.’

Egypt denied on Friday evening that Israel had carried out an airstrike in the Sinai.

At least five Egyptian terrorists were reportedly killed as they prepared to launch a rocket into Israel.

Some sources spoke of an Israeli air strike conducted from Israeli air space, but the Egyptian military denied this.

 

“There is no truth whatsoever to any Israeli strikes inside Egyptian territory and the claims that there is Egyptian and Israeli coordination on the matter is utterly baseless,” military spokesman Colonel Ahmed Aly said in a statement quoted by AFP. Continue Reading »

IAF flight instructor/pilot & navigator safely eject and parachute to sea before being rescued by the IDF’s Unit 669.

 

An F-16i on a training flight crashed in the Mediterranean Sea, some 50 kilometers off the coast of the Gaza Strip, on Sunday. The plane’s pilot, an Israel Air Force flight instructor, and navigator, who was being trained, safely ejected from the aircraft and parachuted to the sea before being rescued.

IAF receives 1st of new super Hercules C-130J

New ‘Super’ Squadron is designed to upgrade IDF’s long range strategic capabilities in transport, fueling & rescue.

 

 

 
The Israel Air Force is preparing to set up its first squadron of “super” Hercules C-130J transport aircraft, after US defense manufactures officially handed over the first plane to Israel last week.

The new squadron, to be based at Nevatim airbase in the South, is designed to upgrade the IDF’s long-range strategic capabilities It can carry more soldiers, lift a greater load, and fly to further destinations than its predecessor Hercules aircraft, which has been in service in the air force for more than 40 years.

R.’s parents beam with pride after son overcame disability to successfully complete the IAF’s most prestigious course.

As a child R. suffered from Tourette syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary movements and vocalizations; yet next week he is set to become a fighter pilot after having passed one of the most excruciatingly demanding preparatory courses the IDF has on offer.

R., 22 today, has suffered from behavioral and health problems in primary school, including hyperactivity, aggressive behavior, angry outbursts and various allergic reactions. His parents say they tried various alternative medicines until they stumbled on a support group for parents of Tourette sufferers, where they were given various advices regarding nutrition, which changed R’s health dramatically. Israeli and U.S. military officials are coordinating how to target and destroy Syrian president Bashar Assad’s arsenal of unconventional weapons under assorted scenarios, Israeli military and intelligence officials told TIME Magazine.

One scenario would be the sudden removal of Assad from the scene, the magazine said. “That would prompt the allies to launch operations on the estimated 18 depots and other sites where WMDs are stored,” Israei military and intelligence officials said.

“Search and destroy operations would also be launched if the weapons appeared to be about to fall into the hands of the rebels, which include Islamist extremists aligned with al-Qaeda.” Continue Reading »

Baghdad warns Israel not to use its airspace to attack Iran

Iraqi minister says the gov’t has informed Israel that “if they violate Iraqi airspace, they will have to bear the consequences”.

Washington has assured Baghdad that Israel won’t use airspace to attack nuclear facilities.

Baghdad has warned Israel against violating its airspace in order to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, Hussein al-Shahristani, Iraq’s deputy prime minister responsible for energy affairs told AFP on Monday.

Shahrishtani said that the US had already assured Iraqi officials that it would not use Iraqi airspace in order to attack Iran.

“The (Americans) have assured us that they will never violate Iraqi airspace or Iraqi sovereignty by using our airspace to attack any of our neighbors,” Shahristani told AFP.

Lebanon pissed-off: Israeli warplanes flying over Beirut

Lebanese official confirmed the IAF overflights on Sunday & said they presence were among the most intense recently.

Israel has no comment.

 

Lebanese security officials and the state-run news agency reported Sunday that low-flying Israeli warplanes were violating its air space, overlying territory including the capital Beirut.

The warplanes flew over southern Lebanon, Beirut, the eastern Bekaa Valley and the city of Baalbek, the National News Agency said.
