The IDF has confirmed that shots were fired from Syria on one of its border patrols on Friday evening.

There were no injuries or damages in the incident, an army spokeswoman said.

Israel detains Palestinian-American teen for throwing rocks

Israeli forces have been holding a Palestinian-American teenager in a military lockup for nearly a week after bursting into his family home and arresting him in an overnight raid for allegedly hurling rocks at Israeli motorists in the West Bank, his father said on Thursday.

Palestinians fired a rocket at the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council on Sunday – the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The rocket exploded in an open area. No injuries or damage were reported.

Benny, a resident of Shaar Hanegev, recounted, “During the Holocaust Day ceremony the siren sounded. All those in the club entered the security room and after several blasts were heard from afar, we resumed the ceremony.”

Unique delegations of IDF officers, dubbed “Witnesses in Uniforms,” continue to fly to Europe. These delegations consist of some 180 IDF officers from various units, including reservists. The delegations visit the concentration and death camps, the ghettos and the old communities of the destroyed European Jewry.

IDF Security Screw-up as Gazan Reaches Jewish Community

An unarmed man from Gaza succeeded in penetrating all the IDF defenses & reach the town of Netivot. Security officials concerned.

A man from Gaza managed to get past several layers of IDF security and to reach the Israeli city of Netivot shortly before Passover, Yisrael Hayom reports.

The man was unarmed and apparently did not plan to carry out a terrorist attack. His infiltration has caused great concern in the defense establishment regardless, as it is feared that he could have shown terrorists a way of entering Israel.

Terrorist Shot Dead After Throwing Firebomb at IDF Soldiers

1 Palestinian terrorist killed after IDF soldiers open fire at 2 Arab terrorists who threw firebombs at them in northern Samaria.

IDF soldiers opened fire on Wednesday night at two terrorists who approached an IDF position near the community of Einav in northern Samaria.

As the two terrorists approached the soldiers, they hurled a firebomb at them. The soldiers returned fire, killing one terrorist and wounding the other.

PA officials told AFP that the killed terrorist was a 16-year-old teen, identified as Amer Nassar.

The latest attack comes after two days of unrest in Judea and Samaria, as Palestinian Authority Arabs rioted over the death of an elderly terrorist who was serving time in an Israeli jail. Continue Reading »

Israel establishes ‘field hospital’ to treat the injured Syrians

Officials confirm that due to growing number of injured Syrians arriving at Israel’s border, a ‘military field hospital’ was built on an IDF outpost in the Golan Heights.

In light of the steady increase in the number of wounded Syrians Israel has been treating, the IDF has set up a “military field hospital” at army outpost 105 in the Golan Heights, AFP reported Thursday.

A number of injured Syrians made their way to the border with Israel Wednesday morning, the IDF said. Two of the Syrians, who were critically wounded, were evacuated to Israeli hospitals with the authorization of IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz.

Entry from the PA Areas Closed by IDF until Tuesday Midnight

Defense Minister imposed a general closure from PA-assigned areas ahead of the Passover holiday. Closure remains in effect until Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.

The IDF imposed a general closure on the Palestinian Authority-assigned areas of Judea and Samaria ahead of the holiday of Passover. The closure went into effect as of 11:59 p.m. on Sunday evening, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced.

The decision on the closure was made by Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon following an assessment of the current situation. It will be removed on Tuesday at 11:59 p.m., pending another assessment of the situation.

During the closure, entry from the PA into Israel will be allowed only in humanitarian, medical and other exceptional cases, all subject to the approval of the Civil Administration. Continue Reading »

The IDF opened fire at a Syrian military post on Sunday after the Syrians opened fire at IDF soldiers. The IDF used a Tamuz anti-tank guided missile at a Syrian post in the Tel Fares area in the southern Golan Heights. There were no casualties on the Israeli side. The Syrian post was destroyed and two armed Syrians were wounded.
