IDF reports IAF jets launch fresh retaliatory strike on additional Hamas targets in Gaza

IDF reports Israel launched a second strike, destroying two Hamas observation posts in northern Gaza, just a day after a mortar fired by Palestinian terrorists hit an Israeli structure during a birthday ceremony for slain IDF soldier, Oron Shaul.

Israeli jets attacked a Hamas observation post Saturday evening in northern Gaza in response to rockets that were fired Friday morning at Israel during a ceremony held in memory of an IDF soldier who was killed during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

New Hamas leadership sends delegation to Iran to enhance renewed ties

 

Iran-Hamas relations have renewed amid Gulf States drawing lines, forcing countries to expel Hamas operatives and boycott Qatar, so Iran has once again ‘adopted’ Hamas …now that billion$ have been given to them.

A senior Hamas delegation arrived Friday morning in Tehran for an official visit. The delegation includes, among others, senior Hamas figure Izzat al-Rishq and head of the Hamas administration Saleh al-Arouri, who was forced to leave Qatar for Lebanon, reportedly due to “external pressures” following several Arab countries’ boycott of Qatar.

The official reason for the Hamas delegation’s arrival is the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who was reelected in May. Continue Reading »

The Islamist Hamas movement has sharply criticized the Palestinian Authority for resuming peace talks with Israel, saying that President Mahmoud Abbas is giving in to American pressure. The criticism comes as Hamas moves toward a rapprochement with Iran, despite differences over Syria.

Iranian ship with thousands of weapons seized by Egyptian navy

 

According to Egypt’s Interior Ministry, the weapons & ammunition were likely earmarked for extremist Salafist groups operating in the Sinai & for Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza.

Egyptian naval forces seized an Iranian ship carrying tens of thousands of weapons, likely earmarked for Palestinian terrorist groups and extremist Salafist groups operating in Sinai, as it entered Egyptian territorial waters in the Red Sea late on Wednesday, an Egyptian military spokesman said on Thursday.

Egypt allows Iranian Aid into Gaza via the Rafah Crossing

Cairo has approved an Iranian aid convoy with food and medical supplies to enter Gaza.

The supplies will arrive in 2 weeks.

Egypt has approved the entry of an Iranian aid convoy into Gaza, a security official told the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency on Wednesday.

The Iranian government had contacted Egypt to ask that the convoy be allowed into Gaza via the Rafah crossing, the Egyptian security official told Ma’an.

The food and medical aid will enter Gaza in two weeks, he said.

The announcement of the aid convoy comes as Iran continues to boast close relations with the terrorist organizations operating in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Hamas Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh on Friday and congratulated him on the “resistance’s victory following the Israeli aggression that lasted eight days.”

Senior Hamas figure Mahmoud al-Zahar acknowledged on Friday that the rockets fired by Hamas’ armed wing toward Israel during the latest round of fighting were “Iranian rockets in Palestinian hands.”

Speaking at a procession in Gaza, al-Zahar criticized the Fatah movement and the Palestinian Authority, saying they played no part in the “victory” over Israel. Continue Reading »

Israeli official: Iranian military experts operating in Gaza, Sinai

Iran pressured Islamic Jihad and popular resistance groups in Gaza to continue firing rockets into Israel despite cease-fire, says high-ranking Jerusalem official.

Iranian military experts are active in the Gaza Strip and in Sinai, according to a high-ranking official in Jerusalem. The official said the Iranians entered the areas via Sudan and Egypt, and added that some of the rocket-launching systems in Gaza were manufactured under Iranian supervision.

The senior source also claimed that Islamic Jihad continued to fire rockets at Israel even after the recent cease-fire was announced because the Iranians pressured that organization, and the popular resistance groups, to continue acting against Israel.
