IBM Researchers in Haifa have developed an app for smartphones or smartwatches that can help detect attention deficit hyperactivity disorder symptoms by analyzing the person’s movements.

Israeli researchers have developed a prototype of an app that can detect attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms by monitoring and analyzing hand movements.

Users could self-diagnose ADHD using a smartphone, a smartwatch or an activity band.

An Israeli student has created robots that might change the world of package deliveries for good.

Kobi Shikar, an engineering and design student at Shenkar School of Engineering in Ramat Gan, Israel, has designed a robotic delivery service, Transwheel.

The Daily Mail reported that the robots are one- wheeled drones, which balance themselves by using a similar system to the popular Segway. They contain a facial recognition software to identify recipients and have a GPS system in order to make their way around. Continue Reading »

Israel’s pavilion showcases 18 ‘Blue & White’ companies at Brazil defense exhibition

Israel Military Industries are marketing their Guided Mortar Munition, battle tested by the IDF, are guided by laser or GPS satellite systems, and has a range of 8 kilometers.

 

Israel Military Industries (IMI) will display its new Guided Mortar Munition – which are already in service in the IDF – at an international defense exhibition in Brazil this week.

The mortars can be guided by laser or GPS.

The LAAD Defense and Security exhibition will take place from April 14 to 17 in Rio De Janerio, and will see IMI showcase the guided mortars, developed in response to operational requirements from the IDF and foreign military customers, IMI said. Continue Reading »

Israel to supply the first water purification vehicle to the Pacific island nation, which suffers from serious water shortages.

The Pacific island nation known as the Marshall Islands will soon have its first water purification vehicle – thanks to Israel.

The Israel Foreign Ministry is supplying desalination vehicle to the tiny nation with a population of about 70,000 people. Located near the equator in the northern Pacific Ocean, the Marshall Islands suffers from a serious water shortage, which Israel hopes to help the country overcome.

MOSHAV AHITUV, Israel (Reuters) – A bicycle made almost entirely of cardboard has the potential to change transportation habits from the world’s most congested cities to the poorest reaches of Africa, its Israeli inventor says.

Izhar Gafni, 50, is an expert in designing automated mass-production lines. He is an amateur cycling enthusiast who for years toyed with an idea of making a bicycle from cardboard.
