Man opens fire on 2 burglars in his home, Palestinian thief dead, his partner seriously wounded

After hearing noises in his home Monday evening, an unnamed man from Moshav Beit Yitzhak discovers two Palestinian men holding burglary tools in their hands, opens fire killing one, and seriously hurting the second.

A Palestinian burglar was killed and another seriously wounded Monday night when a man opened fire on them as they attempted to break into his home in Moshav Beit Yitzhak in the Sharon region.

Upon arriving at the scene, Magen David Adom paramedics were forced to pronounce the death of one of the burglars, a man in his 30s, and evacuated the second wounded man, also in his 30s, to a nearby hospital. Continue Reading »

VIDEO: Tel Aviv parking garage collapse, killing 2, wounding 18

An underground parking garage under construction in Tel Aviv collapsed Monday morning, leaving two dead and some 18 people injured. One of the dead was a 35-year-old man, according to Channel 10 Television.

The incident occurred in the Ramat Hahayal neighborhood in northern Tel Aviv, an area with a large number of hi-tech firms.

MDA emergency responders said one person was seriously injured in the collapse. Witnesses say he appeared to be in his mid-20s and was a worker at the site.

Kiryat Arba resident has lit the internet on fire over the weekend, after footage surfaced of him placing what he says is a piece of pork on the body of a dead terrorist killed by Israel Police during an attack on Israeli civiilians Friday.

In the video, Magen David Adom (MDA) medics can be seen performing resuscitation on the terrorist. In the interim, the resident succeeds in getting close to the body and placing the piece of meat upon it, sarcastically telling the terrorist to “enjoy” it. Continue Reading »

Assemble IDF field hospital to begin rendering medical attention to the injured
Locate Israelis and return them home

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel has been providing assistance to Israelis, Nepalese and others since receiving the first reports of the earthquake that hit Nepal.
The Ministry, via Israel in Nepal, is aiding Israelis in the stricken area and is in touch with the families of Israeli travelers who have not yet established contact.

Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA)emergency services on Monday offered to transfer blood units and donations to Gaza Strip, but the humanitarian gesture was rejected by the Palestinian Authority.

According to MDA Director Eli Bin, the organization then offered to assist the PA by facilitating blood drives involving Palestinian or Israeli Arab donors, but that offer was rejected as well.

Taba Terror: Egypt Rejects Israeli Ambulances Entry into Sinai

After a terrorist attack in the Sinai, Egypt refused entry to Israeli MDA emergency medical response teams into Taba, where 3 Korean tourists & the Egyptian driver were killed, along with 33 wounded.

Egypt has refused to allow Israeli Magen David Adom ambulances and emergency teams to Taba, where four people are dead and 33 injured after a terror bombing Sunday. Three of the dead are tourists from Korea and one is a bus driver.

Knesset steaming over Ethiopian-Israeli lawmaker’s rejection as blood donor

The Knesset’s Labor, Welfare and Health Committee will meet in emergency session to discuss MDA’s rejection policy of Ethiopia-born blood donors.

 

 

 

JERUSALEM  — Israeli lawmakers called for an examination of Magen David Adom blood donation policies after an Ethiopia-born Knesset member was rejected as a donor.

Pnina Tamano-Shata of the Yesh Atid party tried to donate during a special blood drive Wednesday at the Knesset but was told she could not because she had “the special kind of Jewish-Ethiopian blood,” according to Ynet, which first broke the story.

Female IDF soldier attacked in Jaffa

 

Suspected 16 yr-old punches soldier on her way from Army Radio (Galatz) station to parking lot.

Motive behind attack still unclear.

A 20-year-old soldier serving in the Army Radio (Galatz) was attacked Friday evening outside the radio station in the heart of Jaffa. According to the soldier’s testimony, an unknown man hit her in the face.

Magen David Adom emergency services evacuated the soldier in light condition to Edith Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.

Nigerian church donates another ambulance to Israel!

Once again the Nigerian church donates fully equipped ambulance to Israel’s first aid association, Magen David Adom.

Church leaders say there are 40 million Christians in Nigeria who love & support Israel.

Nigerian church and government officials last week came to Israel bearing a large financial gift for Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical organization (the local equivalent of the Red Cross).

Ethiopian officials come to learn from MDA

Visitors especially interested in MDA’s strategies for coping with emergencies using current technologies.

The head of the situation room at Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry and his deputy visited Magen David Adom on Tuesday to learn from Israel’s first aid, ambulance and blood supply organization.
