First major US trial win against Palestinian terrorism will be precedent maker
A win in the ongoing New York trial represented by Shurat Hadin against the Palestinian Authority, would signal a plaintiff-friendly playing field for filing further terrorism cases in the US.

The stakes are high.
A win by the plaintiffs in the first terrorist trial against the Palestinian Authority could mean a multi-billion dollar judgment, a major diplomatic setback for the PA and possibly even reduce the PA’s enthusiasm for using the legal arena to pressure Israel.

Seconds after the blast hit downtown Jerusalem, Jamie Sokolow lay on the ground, her right eye damaged by shrapnel and her face feeling as though someone had set it aflame. “I thought, ‘I’m 12 years old, I’m from New York, and I’m going to die,'” she testified in Manhattan federal court on Monday, at times breaking down in tears.

US condemns ICC over ‘tragically ironic’ war crimes probe of Israel

The US State Department late on Friday condemned the International Criminal Court’s decision to open a preliminary probe into possible war crimes in Palestinian territories, calling it a “tragic irony.”

“We strongly disagree with the ICC Prosecutor’s action today. As we have said repeatedly, we do not believe that Palestine is a state and therefore we do not believe that it is eligible to join the ICC,” State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said in a statement.

The Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) on Saturday night lifted a gag order on the arrest of the terrorists who committed the firebomb attack in Ma’ale Shomron in Samaria last Thursday, in which 11-year-old Ayala Shapira was critically wounded and her father Avner lightly wounded as their car went up in flames.
Several hours after the attack, roughly a dozen young Arab suspects from the nearby town of Kfar Azoun were arrested, according to the ISA report.

Molotov Cocktail Throwing Terrorist Caught, Defense Minister Informs Mother
The Arab terrorist who broke window to throw Molotov cocktail into the car of Avner Shapira and his 11 yr-old daughter Ayala, has been apprehended, Defense Minister tells mother.

Security forces believe they have apprehended the terrorists responsible for Thursday night’s firebomb attack, which left a young girl in critical condition.
Speaking to 11 year-old Ayala Shapira’s mother on Friday, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon revealed that it appeared the attacker had been apprehended. His identity has not yet been released.
IDF forces quickly deployed in a massive operation to track down the terrorist responsible for the attack, which also left father Avner lightly injured.

A firebomb attack on a private vehicle critically injured an 11-year-old girl and lightly wounded her father in Ma’ale Shomron, Samaria, on Thursday evening.
Avner Shapira and his daughter Ayala were on their way home to the El Matan neighborhood when their car was struck by a Molotov cocktail in a suspected Palestinian terrorist attack, injuring Shapira and severely burning his daughter.

After losing a landmark decision on November 20 allowing them to be tried for terrorism charges in a $1 billion case, the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) have now filed a very rare appeal to the Second Circuit of courts trying to squash the case.
Shurat Hadin (Israel Law Center) is leading the legal charge against the PA and PLO.

United States District Judge scheduled jury selection for damages trial against Arab Bank
A jury will determine how much money the Jordanian-based bank, found guilty of violating the Anti-Terrorism Act, owes in damages to the American victims of Hamas terror attacks the Arab Bank funded.

Arab Bank will face a jury trial in May to determine how much money it owes in damages to victims of Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, a court order stated.
In September a federal jury found Arab Bank liable for providing material support to Hamas in two dozen attacks attributed to the terrorist group. Nearly 300 Americans who were either victims or related to victims of the attacks were plaintiffs in the suit.
