WATCH: At the Israel Museum, “Herod the Great” Exhibition

At the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, premieres the world’s 1st exhibition on the life & legacy of the Roman King, Herod the Great.

Arutz Sheva TV visited the world’s first exhibition devoted to the architectural legacy of KiRoman King Herod the Greatng Herod, the Jewish proxy monarch who ruled Jerusalem and the Holy Land under Roman occupation two millennia ago. The exhibition, at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, includes about 250 archaeological artifacts recently discovered on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, at the Herodion summer palace, south of the capital, Jericho and other sites.

The display includes a reconstructed tomb and sarcophagus from Herod’s grave and a wall painting from the Herodion. Continue Reading »

Arab Gang Kidnapped & Beat Israeli Cabbie

A Palestinian Authority gang kidnapped a 70 year-old Israeli taxi driver, beat him, & then threw him out along the road to Ramallah.

Two Palestinian Authority resident Arab men have been arrested in connection to the kidnapping and beating of an elderly Israeli cab driver. The attack in question took place in January, but was under a gag order until Wednesday.

 

The attack began when the cab driver, 70, picked up three Arab men as passengers. The three asked him to stop, then pounced on him and tied a rope around his neck and beat him. Continue Reading »

EU’s designation of Hezbollah would disrupt its financing of terror

A decision by the European Union to blacklist Hezbollah would interrupt the group’s financing because much of the money it uses to fund terrorist operations comes from European capitals, Homefront Defense Minister Avi Dichter said on Tuesday.

Jewish Agency head won’t seek solution over Women of the Wall until new gov’t is formed

The ‘Kotel is in complete captivity & in the hands of an extremist group,’ head of the Jewish Conservative movement of Israel tells the Jewish Agency board.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday he refused to return a historic but disputed Jewish archive to the United States because doing so would “open a Pandora’s box”, AFP reports.

Russian President Vladimir PutinPutin spoke after a U.S. judge slapped a daily fine of $50,000 on Moscow last month for its failure to comply with a 2010 order to return the sacred texts.

The Southern Zoning Committee approved a bid by the Israel National Roads Company to build new train tracks in the country’s south, despite an environmental impact report that deemed the project harmful, Yedioth Aharonoth reported.

After Hatnuah, Shas likely to be next to join Bibi’s coalition

Members of Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu suggested that Netanyahu may try to build a coalition of 57 MKS – including Shas, United Torah Judaism, Kadima & Hatnuah and then present Naftali Bennett with an ultimatum.

 

Likud officials in charge of coalition negotiations said that Hatnuah Chairman Tzipi Livni‘s consent to join Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government was the “first domino” to fall, believing that more parties would now follow.

A report published on Tuesday in the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar purports to present a detailed account of the 2008 assassination of senior Hizbullah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus.

According to Al-Akhbar, as soon as the 2006 Second Lebanon War ended, Hizbullah began the largest operation to restore its military organization and raise the level of its readiness and weaponry. Women Drivers Escape Terrorist Ambush

Jewish women drivers escaped  Palestinian Authority gang’s carjacking attempts.

Palestinian Authority resident criminal gangs continue to target Israeli drivers for theft, and women traveling alone in particular. Two women escaped attempted carjackings at the last minute on Monday evening.

The two told Arutz Sheva their stories.

“At around 9 p.m. I passed through the Hizme junction on my way home, and suddenly I lost control of the car,” one recalled. “There was something on the road that made the car slip sideways.”
