Hamas Threatens: Open Gaza Sea Port or We Renew Firing Friday

A spokesman for Hamas’s “military wing”, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, warned Thursday of renewed fighting with Israel if talks in Cairo to extend a 72-truce in Gaza collapsed.

“We appeal to the Palestinian delegation to not accept a ceasefire, unless it satisfies the demands of our people,” a spokesman using the nom-de-guerre Abu Obeida said in a televised address, adding that Hamas fighters were “ready to return to battle.”

The three-day truce ending four weeks of bloodshed between Israel and Hamas is due to end at 0500 GMT Friday. Continue Reading »

Second Temple Era ruins found near Highway to Jerusalem

 

Israel Antiquities Authority announced the discovery of ruins and bronze coins stamped with a Hebrew inscription reading “Year Four,” the time of the Great Revolt against the Romans some 2,000 years ago.

The Israel Antiquities Authority on Tuesday announced that the ruins of a Second Temple-era community have been found near Highway 1, Israel’s main Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway.

The ruins were discovered several months ago during an infrastructure project by the national roads company, Netivei Israel.

A newly released video uses a scene from the animated Disney movie “The Lion King” to illustrate Hamas’s digging of terror tunnels in order to carry out attacks against Israelis.

A senior military official announced on Tuesday morning that the IDF had completed its goal of the destruction of the Gaza tunnel network. According to the source, 32 tunnels were destroyed.

Hussam Kawasmeh, a resident of Hevron, was arrested in the Arab neighborhood of Shuafat in Jerusalem in a joint operation involving IDF forces and the Shabak (Israel Security Agency), and has admitted under interrogation to having orchestrated the kidnapping and said he received funding from Hamas officials in Gaza. Ceasefires, truces and bilateral agreements will never bring the peace most people in the Middle East desire. Only by following the biblical model, including the rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem, can genuine peace be achieved, argues an Israeli organization dedicated to that goal.

Terrorist Shoots Soldier in Jerusalem

According to a report on Channel 2, an Israeli was shot in the stomach at the entrance to the Har Hatzofim (Mount Scopus) tunnel  in Jerusalem.

An eyewitness named Eti said that the victim is a soldier. “I saw him falling backward,” she told reporter Moshe Nusbaum.

The wounded man is about 20, said the channel’s reporters, and he is in moderate to serious condition and received treatment on the spot. Continue Reading »
