Egypt acknowledges destroying over 3,000 Gaza terror-tunnels

The Egyptian Army Spokesperson admitted in a TV interview, that to curtail terrorism in the Sinai, the army destroyed over 3000 terror & smuggling tunnels on their Gaza border, some were as long as 3 km and as deep as 30 meters.

Egypt has destroyed more than 3,000 tunnels along its border with the Gaza Strip in the past five years, Egyptian Army Spokesperson Tamer Al-Refai has revealed.

IDF floods additional terror-tunnel with materials eliminating future use

For the second time on Sunday, a terror-tunnel initially demolished during Operation Protective Edge, was re-destroyed by the IDF flooding it with materials making the tunnel Hamas has trying to recommission, unusable.
– Defense Minister Lieberman: ‘Hamas should invest the money in the welfare of the Gaza residents, because by the end of the year, its tunnel project will be eliminated.’

The IDF destroyed for the second time on Sunday a terror tunnel initially demolished during Operation Protective Edge, which Hamas has tried to put back into operations.

UNRWA reports sealing Hamas terror tunnel discovered beneath 2 UN schools

Although Hamas has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to rehabilitate their attack tunnel network since its last war with Israel, Hamas denied any connection to the tunnel found under the 2 schools saying it “strongly condemned” the UNRWA statement because it can only be exploited by Israel to “justify its crimes.”

A Hamas tunnel passing between two Gaza schools belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) discovered during construction work in June has been sealed.

In a recent Hamas parade in Gaza, a yet-unseen capability was displayed: attack dogs, apparently styled after the IDF’s Oketz canine unit.

Hamas’ canine unit is a part of the Nohba (“elect”) tunnel unit of the organization, and has been used so far for patrolling the new paved patrol road that runs along the border with Israel – 250 meters running inside PA territory. REPORT: 21 Hamas terrorists died in collapses of terror-tunnels in 2016

 

Hamas reported that 21 members of its Islamic Palestinian militant groups were killed by the collapse of their attack-tunnels in Gaza during 2016.

Hamas said on Sunday that 21 of its members were killed in tunnel collapses in Gaza during 2016, Kol Yisrael radio reported.

According to the terror group, seven of the 21 were killed in a tunnel in eastern Gaza City which collapsed six months ago during work to repair the damage caused to the tunnel by Israel during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

Planned underground concrete barrier to stop terror tunnels will encircle Gaza

 

The Ministry of Defense issued tenders for the construction of a concrete barrier that will completely encircle Gaza, be equipped with electronic sensors to detect vibrations (digging), and extend several stories below ground to neutralize any threat of Palestinian terror-tunnels.

IDF responds to Hamas shelling IDF in 3rd incident of the day

 

This is the 4th time in the past 2 days that Palestinians in Gaza opened fire at IDF soldiers searching for Hamas terror-tunnels on Israel’s border.

IDF troops shelled Hamas military posts in the Gaza Strip for three times on Wednesday in response to mortar shell fire at forces operating near the border fence. There have been four incidents of fire opened on Israel8i troops on the frontier over the past two days. There were no Israeli soldiers hurt in any of the incidents.
