WSJ oped: Where’s all the Palestinian aid really going?

 

Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister accuses int’l donor states of not even bothering to track how their $billions, earmarked for humanitarian aid, are being misused to perpetuate intolerance and fund terror.

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely has taken to the pages of the Wall Street Journal, to challenge international donors over how billions in aid to the Palestinian Authority have been used to fund terrorism, instead of for the humanitarian and economic purposes they were earmarked for.

In her oped, which was published late on Sunday, Hotovely acknowledges that there is “broad agreement about the importance of extending development aid to help the Palestinians build the physical and social infrastructure that will enable the emergence of a sustainable, prosperous society.” Continue Reading »

Israel Air Force bombs Hamas terror target in Gaza in retaliation for rocket fire

 

The Israel Air Force struck a Hamas military compound in the center of the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Monday in retaliation for a Gazan rockets fired on the Southern region of Israel.

The rocket was fired from the Gaza strip at southern Israel on Sunday evening setting off the color red sirens in the Sha’ar Hanegev region, sending local residents fleeing for cover.

The rocket exploded in an open area, failing to cause injuries and there was no damage, the army said. Continue Reading »

Israeli ingenuity produces safe drinking water from thin air

A lack of water on the battlefield is not something that soldiers can afford to worry about in the heat of combat. Supplying clean water however, is not always an easy task given the dangers of any battle. 

Aware of this fact, Arye Kohavi, a former company commander in the IDF Special Forces, set about creating technology which would ensure that soldiers are never short of clean water and that the water supply is never delayed.  Continue Reading »

#BDSfail: New York latest state to pass anti-BDS legislation

 

The New York State Senate passes law his week that prohibits the state from cooperating with all companies that seek to boycott, divestment or pass sanctions against Israel.

The state of New York this week became the latest state to pass legislation against the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The New York State Senate passed a bill that prohibits the state from doing business with companies that seek to harm Israel and other American allies through boycotts and discriminatory economic agendas.

The bill (S6378A), sponsored by Senator Jack Martins (7th Senate Distict) and Senator Simcha Felder (17th Senate District), passed on Wednesday. Continue Reading »

IDF exercise simulates combat readiness on Israel’s Syria, Lebanon borders

 

The 2-week IDF combat drill combined ground, air, and naval forces that was aimed at simulating simultaneous military incursions on its borders with Lebanon & Syria.
• General of Northern Command said, Exercise showed IDF is more than able to “implement operational plans in all arenas.”

Exposed: Swiss capitulated with Palestinian support for protection against terror attacks

#BDSfail: Israeli products return to Slovenia supermarket shelves

 

The Mercator chain reversed its decision made 2 days ago by acknowledging it will continue to sell Israeli fruit, leaving the Slovenian Embassy to reiterate: ‘There is no Slovenian boycott of Israeli products.’

Two days after Slovenia’s biggest supermarket chain Mercator relented to pressure from the BDS Movement and removed Israeli products off its shelves, it went back on its decision, placing a new order for fruit from Israel, including pomelos and avocados.

Jews acquire two new homes in Hevron, call on gov’t to protect Arab sellers

 

The new Israeli residents call on gov’t to strengthen Jewish community in the ancient city, & protect the Arabs (who sold the 2 structures) from pro-Palestinian activists, who turn in Arabs (that sell land to Jews) to Abbas’ Palestinian Authority (PA), which summarily tortures & then executes them.

Dozens of Jews took residency of two empty buildings in the ancient city of Hevron in Judea on Thursday afternoon, in an historical move in the city where Jews have long been limited by the government in expanding their community.

Hamas leader corrects Abbas’s propaganda: Jihad, not despair, behind Palestinian violence

 

The Hamas leader in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh, unimpressed with Mahmoud Abbas’s propaganda remark to Christian media that the current ‘knife attacks’ were the result of Palestinians’ despair, said, “This intifada is a jihad, a holy war fought by the Palestinian people against the Zionist occupation. Only a holy war will drive the occupier out of Palestine.”

Decades After Jewish Exodus from USSR, Putin Invites European Jews to Russia

 

Decades after millions of Jews fled the USSR leaving the ex-republic without their influential Jewish population, Putin’s comments were well received, with the World Israel Beytenu Movement attributing Putin’s call an example of “his positive approach toward the Jewish Community in Russia & Israel.”

Egypt revokes citizenship from Jewish woman for becoming IDF soldier

 

At age 15, ‘Rouen Abdullah’ of Alexandria, now known as Dina Ovadia, learned she was Jewish when her family was forced to leave Egypt, but enraged Cairo after relocating to Jerusalem then joining the ‘occupation army.’

Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has decided to revoke the Egyptian citizenship of 22-year-old Dina Ovadia from Jerusalem because she moved to Israel and joined the IDF.

Ovadia was born and raised in the city of Alexandria in Egypt. “My name was Rouleen Abdullah, and I went to a Muslim school,” she told the IDF journal two years ago.

Newest EU anti-Israel resolution too critical of Jewish State

 

European Union ministers debate anti-Israel resolution that could lead to additional sanctions against post-1967 communities, after a few EU foreign ministers argue language too critical of the Jewish State.

EU foreign ministers were trying to resolve last-minute differences Monday before voting on a resolution that distinguishes between Israel-proper and the territories it captured during the 1967 Six Day War.

According to officials and diplomatic sources, some countries consider the language of the resolution too critical of the Jewish state.

The resolution, being promoted by Sweden and Ireland, would stipulate that all agreements between Israel and the EU would not apply to any areas over the 1949 Armistice Lines. Continue Reading »

Int’l Law Experts Agree: Int’l Law Recognizes Jewish Claims Over Judea & Samaria

 

Despite popular, yet dubious claims to the contrary, Israel has international law on its side for legal sovereignty over the areas commonly referred to as the “West Bank”.

Contrary to claims made by Palestinian leadership and others in the international community, international law fully recognizes Jewish claims in Judea and Samaria. These areas were part of the Palestine Mandate, which granted Jews the right to settle anywhere west of the Jordan River and to establish a national home there.

History reminds us that the Palestine Mandate, supported by all 51 members of the League of Nations at the time, and codified in international law, is recognized as legally valid by the United Nations in Article 80 of the UN Charter.
