Surveillance balloons tracking rioters in East Jerusalem for subsequent arrests

3 surveillance balloons currently operating now with 2 more to come for police to use to bust youngsters throwing ‘Molotov cocktails’ & stones at light rail & passing cars.

 

The Jerusalem municipality said this week that it was deploying three surveillance balloons over East Jerusalem to aid police in stopping Palestinian rioting. Two more balloons will soon be added as part of a new municipal unit for aerial surveillance.

Arabs Again Attack Jewish Kindergarten in Jerusalem

Arabs continue with rock-throwing incidents in Israel’s capital as clashes continued overnight & early Thursday morning in Silwan & Shuafat neighborhoods, causing damage to city’s light rail – no one was hurt.

Following the deadly attack at the Jerusalem Light Rail, stones were hurled on Thursday morning at a kindergarten in the Ma’ale ha-Zeitim neighborhood in East Jerusalem, near the Arab neighborhood of Ras al-Amud.

Border police and police forces started searching for the suspects who fled the scene. No damage was caused and no one was hurt.

Israel Police to allow the entry of Muslim male worshipers over 50 yrs-old onto the Temple Mount following intelligence information about additional planned riots.

The Israel Police will restrict the entry of Muslim worshipers to the Temple Mount on Wednesday, due to intelligence information that was received about plans by Arabs to riot at the compound, as they have done several times already in recent days.

The decision was made by the Jerusalem District Commander of the police following an assessment conducted Tuesday evening.

Jordan Condemns Israel for Police Response to Riots on Temple Mount

Jordan condemns the conduct of Israel Police personnel who responded to Arab rioters on the Temple Mount.

Hours after Arab rioters attacked Israeli security forces at the Temple Mount, Jordan criticized Israel on Wednesday over security forces’ conduct in reaction to the riots.

“The forces of the occupation … prevented religious officials entering (the compound) and cleared it of all Muslims, while at the same time enabling Jewish extremists to storm it, and pray with security forces protection,” government spokesman Mohammed Momeni said in a statement quoted by the AFP news agency.

He called on Israel to “stop its devastating campaign against the Al-Aqsa mosque, religious officials and worshippers,” slamming “police… firing bullets and bombs inside the compound, which injured dozens of people.” Continue Reading »

Dozens of veiled rioters hurled stones and fireworks at police officers Wednesday morning on the Temple Mount. A police force entered the compound and pushed the assailants back into the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex; four officers were wounded and were treated by medics on location.

Dozens of masked youth, who set up blockades at the entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, started throwing firecrackers, rocks and stones at police forces stationed at the Mugrabi Gate.

The two soldiers sustained light to moderate injuries and were evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

Israeli police spokesperson Luba al-Samri was quoted by Palestinian news agency Ma’an say saying that Palestinian youths threw “improvised explosive devices” and Molotov cocktails towards members of the Border Guard in the Aida refugee camp north of Bethlehem, but the soldiers reportedly sustained their injuries from stones thrown at them from rooftops. Two Arab rioters were arrested Thursday for attempting to attack MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud Beteinu) as he visited the Temple Mount. Hundreds of rioters threw stones at Feiglin and several individuals who accompanied him. Feiglin was forced to leave the site, and police took steps to break up the riot.

Riots in Jalazoun refugee camp comes 2 days after a terrorist from the camp was killed shooting at IDF.

An IDF official said that ten Palestinians were injured on Friday when the army dispersed a riot in the Jalazoun refugee camp near Ramallah. The IDF Spokesperson confirmed that one Palestinian was injured by IDF live gunfire and was evacuated by the Red Crescent to hospital.

Palestinian Arabs Attack a Police Patrol on Temple Mount

Two Israel policemen were slightly injured by Arabs throwing rocks at them.

Quiet has been restored by the security services and visits to the Temple Mount are continuing as usual.

The patrol was carried out on the basis of intelligence, according to which Arabs intend to throw rocks from one of the mosques. The patrol was then attacked in precisely that way, with rocks thrown from within a mosque.

A video uploaded Wednesday shows a frenzied Arab mob targeting cars driven by Jews as they pass near Jerusalem’s Damascus (Shechem) Gate.

The video was uploaded to the “Free Qudss” account on YouTube, and to a group by a similar name on Facebook.

The text at the start of the video reads: “Destroying the settlers cars and arrests”, and claims to have been taken near Damascus Gate.

The account’s operators and the videographers claim the events are from Tuesday evening, and that the identities of the attackers had been blurred out to protect them from being identified. Continue Reading »
