Following 3 years of threats Palestinians end CIA information-sharing

Mahmoud Abbas’ government security arrangements with the CIA continued quietly despite the PA’s decision to disengage with the Trump White House following their move of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem in 2017.

Palestinian security services will no longer share information with their US counterparts in protest at Israeli plans to declare sovereignty over parts of the West Bank, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat aid Thursday.

The announcement comes after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared on Tuesday an end to all agreements with Israel and the US.

CIA chief visits Ramallah day after Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’ debut

According to Israel’s TV11 news, the day following President Trump’s announcement in the White House of his administration’s “Deal of the Century”, CIA Director Gina Haspel, had a secret meeting with Abbas’ intelligence director, Majid Faraj in Ramallah.

CIA Director Gina Cheri Haspel paid a secret visit to Ramallah one day after US President Donald Trump presented the “deal of the century” peace plan, reports said.

According to Kan, Haspel met senior Palestinian Authority (PA) officials, and was told of the PA threat to cut security ties with both Israel and the US.

About 13 million pages of documents and videos were released Wednesday.

IDF: CIA is trying to recruit IDF soldiers

Over the weekend, the IDF’s intelligence branch sent a letters to all officers and soldiers, warning them against foreign attempts to enlist spies from among the IDF’s ranks.

Channel 2 reports that the message, entitled “enlistment of ex-special forces soldiers to an organization,” included a clipping from daily newspaperYediot Aharonot which told the story of a 2012 attempt by the CIA to turn Israeli soldiers into spies for the US.

Diplomats told the Tribune that the Obama administration has enabled the U.S. intelligence community to disclose details of Israeli military operations against the armed forces under Syrian President Bashar Assad.
