Following 3 years of threats Palestinians end CIA information-sharing

Mahmoud Abbas’ government security arrangements with the CIA continued quietly despite the PA’s decision to disengage with the Trump White House following their move of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem in 2017.

Palestinian security services will no longer share information with their US counterparts in protest at Israeli plans to declare sovereignty over parts of the West Bank, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat aid Thursday.

The announcement comes after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared on Tuesday an end to all agreements with Israel and the US.

CIA chief visits Ramallah day after Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’ debut

According to Israel’s TV11 news, the day following President Trump’s announcement in the White House of his administration’s “Deal of the Century”, CIA Director Gina Haspel, had a secret meeting with Abbas’ intelligence director, Majid Faraj in Ramallah.

CIA Director Gina Cheri Haspel paid a secret visit to Ramallah one day after US President Donald Trump presented the “deal of the century” peace plan, reports said.

According to Kan, Haspel met senior Palestinian Authority (PA) officials, and was told of the PA threat to cut security ties with both Israel and the US.

The latest WikiLeaks batch of CIA intel is a ‘warning’ for Israel’s Intel Agencies

 

Israel must take into account that their different intelligence agencies are not 100% invincible – that in this ongoing battle between state attackers or ‘lone wolf’ vs the defenders, the attacker usually has the upper hand.

We shouldn’t have been surprised this week when tens of thousands of CIA documents were released, revealing the organization’s cyber warfare methods and its operations to break into and attack computers and smart phones. Even the fact that a Samsung refrigerator can be used as a listening device that records voices in its vicinity is not new. The CIA conducted psychic experiments on famed Israeli magician Uri Geller in the 1970s in an attempt to weaponize psychic abilities, newly declassified documents reveal.

About 13 million pages of documents and videos were released Wednesday.

Iranian official exposes Palestinian President Abbas of being CIA collaborator

 

Iran and the Palestinian Authority’s last public spat came in February when Tehran announced it would bypass Abbas’ PA and send money directly to families whose children carried out armed attacks against Israelis.

Abbas meets Rajavi, the head of Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), in Paris.

IDF: CIA is trying to recruit IDF soldiers

 

IDF orders its officers & soldiers against accepting foreign invitations to recruit them as spies.

Over the weekend, the IDF’s intelligence branch sent a letters to all officers and soldiers, warning them against foreign attempts to enlist spies from among the IDF’s ranks.

Channel 2 reports that the message, entitled “enlistment of ex-special forces soldiers to an organization,” included a clipping from daily newspaperYediot Aharonot which told the story of a 2012 attempt by the CIA to turn Israeli soldiers into spies for the US.

Report: CIA assisted Mossad to assassinate Hezbollah’s mass-murderer, Imad Mughniyeh

Washington Post reports that the American spy agency carried out surveillance, helped design & build, then test the bomb that the Israelis later remotely detonated in the 2008 assassination.

The targeted killing in 2008 of Imad Mughniyeh, Hezbollah’s international operations chief, was carried out by Mossad in cooperation the CIA, according to a report published Saturday by the Washington Post.

A secret Central Intelligence Agency document released by WikiLeaks on Sunday, which included a manual seeking to guide its agents on how to avert suspicion while going through airport security, described Israel’s Ben-Gurion International Airport as one of the toughest airports for its agents to navigate.

The 15-page booklet, titled “CIA Assessment on Surviving Secondary Screening at Airports While Maintaining Cover,” means “to explain and advise CIA operatives on how to deal with secondary screening at airports, as they travel to and from covert CIA operations using false ID.

The newly-released report by the US Senate Intelligence Committee on the CIA’s use of torture says that CIA lawyers used Israel as a justification for building a legal case for torture of Al-Qa’ida suspects after the 9/11 attacks.

Diplomats told the Tribune that the Obama administration has enabled the U.S. intelligence community to disclose details of Israeli military operations against the armed forces under Syrian President Bashar Assad. Iran hangs 2 men for spying for Mossad and CIA

The two men executed allegedly provided the Mossad & CIA with classified information on Iran, but it’s unclear when the alleged espionage activity happened or about the information passed.

Iran’s state radio says authorities have executed two men convicted of spying for the Mossad and the American CIA spy agency.

Sunday’s report says Mohammad Heidari, who was accused of providing the Mossad with classified information in exchange for money, and Kourosh Ahmadi, who allegedly gave the CIA intelligence on Iran, were hanged.

The report didn’t say when the men were arrested or tried.
