IDF chief in Saudi newspaper interview: ‘Israel is prepared to share intel on Iran’

Intimidated by Israeli presence, Lebanese army chief ditches U.S. Defense Conference

At the last moment the Lebanese Army chief, who’s already in Washington D.C., decides to boycotts a major conference of chiefs of staff from NATO + US allies, due to the attendance of Gadi Eizenkot, the IDF Chief of Staff.

Lebanon’s chief of staff, Gen. Joseph Aoun, boycotted a major conference of chiefs of staff hosted by the United States, which was attended by IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot.

The conference was held at the beginning of the week in Washington, Haaretz reported. Although Aoun did not attend, army heads from other Arab countries like Egypt and Jordan, which have peace treaties with Israel, as well as Saudi Arabia, which doesn’t, did participate in the event, the newspaper noted. Clinton’s nominee for Vice President claimed in Tuesday’s vice presidential debate that Gadi Eizenkot, the Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, said that the the Iranian nuclear deal prevented Iran from obtaining nuclear arms.

IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot sent a forceful message to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Monday during the Chief of Staff Prize of Excellence ceremony.

Certificates of merit were presented at the ceremony to the winning military units in various categories, including: brigades, battalions, reserve units, training units, combat support units and technology units.

IDF Chief Promises to Protect Syria’s Druze from ‘Massacre’

Israel pledged Tuesday to protect any refugees who fled towards the Jewish state after a rebel offensive in Syria and Islamist violence there raised fears about the Druze minority’s safety.

A significant number of Druze live in Israel, and leading members of the community have called on the government to help their brethren in Syria following the recent violence.

Without mentioning the Druze, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot said the authorities were preparing for a possible influx of Syrian refugees and would prevent a potential massacre at the border. Continue Reading »
