Israel Air Force engage ISIS forces in Syria, killing 4, destroying terrorist’s vehicle and ordnance

 

Prior to the IAF’s engagement, Israeli ground forces in the southern Golan Heights return fire after receiving shots and mortar shell emanating from ISIS-linked cell operating in Syria.

The Israeli Air Force struck and killed a cell of terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State group in Syria after shots were fired across the border at military forces in the Golan Heights on Sunday morning, according to an IDF statement.

In the first clashes between the IDF and an IS-linked group, the Israeli air force allegedly struck four operatives from the ISIS-linked Khalid ibn al-Walid Army (formerly known as Yarmouk Martyrs’ Brigade) who had initially opened fire at IDF forces in the southern Golan Heights at around 8:30am, east of the community of Avnei Eitan. Israel Retaliates: IDF Artillery Hits Syrian Military Targets

The IDF on Wednesday launch and artillery strike on Syrian army targets in the norther Golan Heights in response to a mortar shell that fell in Israeli territory earlier in the day.

The mortar shell was thought to have breached the border as fallout from fighting in Syria, however the IDF said it holds the Syrian regime responsible for all activities emanating from its territory.

Syrian mortar falls in Golan Heights, no one hurt, no damage

 

Israel is once again hit by stray fire from Syria following approximately 2 months of relative quiet.
• IDF reports no one hurt in the incident, with no property damage yet reported.

A mortar shell from Syria landed inside Israeli territory in the Golan Heights region, the IDF reported Wednesday morning. No one was harmed by the mortar, and no property damage was reported.

Israel Retaliates: Airstrikes pound Syrian mortar launchers for 2nd time this week

 

For the second time in less than a week, the Israeli Air Force on Wednesday night launched retaliatory airstrikes against Syrian regime mortar launchers in the Golan Heights.

The Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes overnight Wednesday against mortar launchers belonging to the Syrian regime on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, the IDF Spokesperson stated.

According to the statement, the attacks were in retaliation for the firing of a projectile towards the northern Golan Heights earlier in the day.

No injuries were reported in that incident. It is believed the projectile “leaked” into Israel as part of the fighting between the Syrian regime and the rebels. Continue Reading »

IDF failed to destroy Russian drone that invaded Israeli airspace

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin informed PM Netanyahu that the UAV which accidentally entered Israeli airspace was Russian, not Hezbollah’s or Syrian.

A drone which penetrated Israeli airspace three weeks ago was Russian, not Syrian, as initially believed, Haaretz reported on Sunday.

In mid-July, three weeks ago to the day, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crossed into Israeli airspace over the Golan Heights from the Syrian frontier, and managed to fly some 2.5 miles (4 km) into Israeli airspace before turning back.

Israel’s Golan Druze leader laughs at UN claim of ‘hardship of occupation’

 

“I don’t understand what they’re talking about, it’s laughable,” the mayor of Majdal Shams said. Druze in the Golan “don’t serve in the IDF, and so far are only receiving from the state. Why don’t they condemn the horrors in Syria, where dozens of children are killed daily? (Israel’s) Golan residents have a good life.”

Rocket fire at Israel’s security fence on its northern border prompted a strong reaction from IDF against 2 Syrian army targets: ‘We are not involved in the fighting in Syria but will defend ourselves against any unusual incidents.’

Report: ISIS may use chemical weapons in Golan against Israel

 

According to a TV10 report, the Yarmouk Martyrs’ Brigade, identified with ISIS and operates in the southern Syrian Golan, may attempt to test-fire artillery or mortar shells with chemical agents attached.
