IDF preparing for Iran-backed terrorism attack on Syrian border

 

The Assad regime with its proxies have become more assertive and has retaken several posts on the Syrian Golan since the beginning of Russia’s air involvement.

IDF units on Mount Hermon, which borders Syria, are preparing to encounter Iranian-backed terror attacks, a senior military source told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

According to the source, units operating under the command of the Mount Hermon territorial Brigade have been training to respond to a “combined terror attack” that could involve border bombs, rockets, an attempted kidnapping of soldiers, and possible anti-tank missile fire. Continue Reading »

REPORT: IDF Enter Syria Briefly To Return Defector

 

IDF units reportedly ordered into Syria Saturday to recover paraglider after crossing over border in order to join ISIS-affiliated terror group.

Unconfirmed reports suggest Israeli ground forces briefly entered Syria on Saturday evening after an Israeli man paraglided across the border.

It was initially feared that the paragliding Israeli unintentionally drifted into war-torn Syria and would there be abducted by one of various terrorist militias. The northern Golan Heights region is popular with Israeli paragliders.

Significant Oil Deposit Verified by 3rd Site in Israel’s Golan Heights

 

According to estimates, the potential production will be in the billions of barrels, and since the Jewish State consumes about 100 million barrels of oil per year, Israel will be self-sufficient for many, many years.

“Black Gold” Found in Golan Heights, With Requests to Drill Additional Wells

 

After finding evidence of large crude oil reservoir in Israel’s Golan Heights, Afek Oil & Gas requested an extension of its exploration license to add additional wells in the area.

An oil reservoir has been discovered in the Golan Heights, Israeli energy company Afek officially revealed on Monday.

The company, which previously only hunted at the discovery, on Monday requested permission to drill additional wells in the area.

US State Dept: Travel warning for ‘occupied’ Golan Heights

 

In response to the Iranian backed rocket attack from Syria on Thursday, U.S. State Department warns American citizens about travel to Northern Israel, including the “occupied” Golan Heights, that Israel annexed in 1981.

Following Thursday’s rocket fire from Syria, the U.S. State Department issued a travel warning for several parts of northern Israel, including what it called the “occupied” Golan Heights.

Israel took control of the Golan Heights from Syria during the Six-Day War in 1967. Israel annexed the Golan Heights in 1981, a move not recognized internationally.

Report: Hezbollah at high alert after IDF’s deadly retaliatory strikes in Syria

 

Kuwaiti Al-Rai reports:
Hezbollah fears the Jewish State is seeking to escalate as Jerusalem believes, “that its situation is critical & will soon be tested.” 

This follows the IAF response, eradicating the Islamic Jihad cell that fired 2 rockets at the Galilee & 2 more at the Golan Heights.

Hezbollah has increased its general alert level along the border with Israel, Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai reported Saturday, “for fear of attempts by Israel to drag Lebanon and Syria into an escalation of a state less than war but more than an operation.”

A 22-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman from Majdal Shams in northern Israel have been indicted for murdering a wounded Syrian and critically injuring another in late June.

A gag order on the developments in the case was lifted Monday.

In the second report on Wednesday, Syrian state-run TV said IAF attacked a base of the pro-Assad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, injuring 6.

Arab media reported on Wednesday that Israeli warplanes struck a target in Syria, killing three people.

According to a report on the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen news portal, the Israeli air force jets struck a car in the countryside of Quneitra in the Syrian Golan Heights, killing three people.

Al-Manar, another Hezbollah-linked news portal, reported that it was an Israeli drone that had struck the vehicle, killing two members of a pro-Assad militia.

The IDF neither confirmed nor denied that it carried out the strike, stating that it does not respond to foreign reports. Continue Reading »

An Israeli military task force, accompanied by tanks and bulldozers, crossed about 500 yards into Syrian territory near Quneitra recently and dismantled a refugee camp in the area, Arab news outlets reported Thursday.
