Israeli and Transjordan negotiators meet on Rhodes to agree on historical Armistice Lines for Jerusalem.

RHODES – Israeli and Transjordan negotiators here today (March 16) reached an agreement on the delineation of armistice lines in the Jerusalem area, at the same tine, “considerable progress” was reported to have taken place during two long sessions today.

Problems concerning Jerusalem’s daily life such as access to the Holy Places and the roads to the Mt. Scopus area and to Bethlehem were shelved for future deliberation and will probably be discussed by the local area commanders.

Jordan’s Parliament vote to expel Israeli envoy over Knesset’s Temple Mount debate

No action expected after non-binding parliamentary decision, unless Knesset accepts MK Feiglin’s recommendation that Israel proclaim sovereignty of the Temple Mount.

 

 

Jordan’s parliament voted unanimously Wednesday to expel the Israeli ambassador and recall its own envoy, after Israeli lawmakers debated whether to declare sovereignty over the Temple Mount, which is administered by Jordanians.

The vote by acclamation in Jordan’s 150-seat parliament is not binding to the cabinet, which is keen to maintain diplomatic ties with Israel.

The Israeli Knesset on Tuesday debated a bill which envisages the “application of Israeli sovereignty” over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount compound, which includes the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood Islamists Protest Against Israel-Palestinian Peace

1200 Muslim Brotherhood supporters demonstrated in Jordan against Kerry’s peace initiative, burning Israeli flags.

Hundreds of Islamists rallied in Jordan on Friday against a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), The Associated Press (AP) reported.

The largest protest in months came hours before Jordan’s King Abdullah was scheduled to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama in California.

The 1,200 protesters affiliated with Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood, who demonstrated against Secretary of State John Kerry’s peace framework, also burned the Israeli flag, reported AP.

The protesters also demanded that King Abdullah II “revoke the peace treaty with the Zionists,” the report said, referring to the 1994 peace treaty signed between the two countries. Continue Reading »

Allah has promised Israel to the Jews — so says Sheikh Ahmad Adwan, a Muslim scholar living in Jordan, who declared on his Facebook page recently that “Palestine” doesn’t exist.

Blogger Elder of Ziyon translated Arab news sources that this Saturday reported on Adwan’s statements, in which he quotes the Koran saying Allah assigned Israel to the Jews until the Day of Judgement (Sura 5 Verse 21), and that Jews are the inheritors of Israel (Sura 26 Verse 59). Peace talks with Abdullah in the middle

Kerry’s current peace plan was reportedly proposed by Jordan’s King Abdullah II to President Obama last year in order to keep Jordan from becoming recognized as Palestine.

 

Since January 8, 2014, the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper has published three reports on the alleged details of the Kerry peace plan.  Al-Quds Al-Arabi is one of the most prominent Arab newspapers and considered a major source of inside information on most Arab regimes. According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, US Secretary of State John Kerry’s plan revolves around Jordan’s king settling Palestinian refugees living in Arab countries in his kingdom and in exchange he would receive $55 billion for “Jordan’s role in hosting refugees for over five decades”. Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority were expected on Monday to sign an agreement on a Red Sea-Dead Sea pipeline project.

Energy and Water Minister Silvan Shalom was due to attend what he called the “historic” signing ceremony at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC.

“The program has garnered the Prime Minister’s support, along with the support of [Palestinian Authority President] Mahmoud Abbas among the Palestinians and of course the support of the King of Jordan,” Shalom told Army Radio. Continue Reading »

Jordan to attain seat on UN Security Council after Saudi Arabia refused

UN General Assembly to vote on giving Jordan the seat traditionally reserved for an Muslim country after Riyadh refused the offer.

 

 

Jordan’s foreign ministry said Monday the kingdom has presented a request to the United Nations seeking candidacy for a Security Council seat that Saudi Arabia had turned down.

The Saudis’ rejection of the seat — just 24 hours after it was elected — had stunned the world organization.

According to the Jordanian ministry statement Monday, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh telephoned UN chief Ban Ki-moon late Sunday after sending Jordan’s “official request” in writing.

Jordanian Parliamentarian Shoots His AK-47 During Parliament Session

A loud gunshot was heard from within the Jordanian House of Representatives as one Member of Parliament opened fire this morning, the Albawaba Middle Eastern news site reported.

According to news reports, MP Talal Al Sharif opened fire using an AK-47 on his colleague MP Qusai Dmeisi during a Foreign Affairs Council meeting inside of the House of Representatives, which is located in the Jordanian capital of Amman.

It remains unknown as to why Sharif opened fire, but no casualties have been reported. Continue Reading »

Lebanese Report: Syria, Iran & Hezbollah planning regional response to any attack on Syria

Syria, Iran, Hezbollah & other pro-Syrian groups plan to strike targets in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan & Israel should Syria come under attack.

 

 

Iran, Syria and Hezbollah have set up a military room to coordinate activities in the case the US and other countries attack Syria, according to sources quoted on Friday in the Lebanese Daily Star. The sources confirmed an earlier report by the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar that Hezbollah is mobilizing its forces in anticipation of an attack, specifically stating that “tens of thousands” of fighters and reservists have been called up.

Jewish Organizations are sending aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan

The Jewish Coalition for Syrian Refugees in Jordan will be collecting funds and working with global partners to deliver vital aid — food, clean water, medical care, shelter, and other relief supplies — to the most vulnerable refugee children and families suffering in Jordan.

NEW YORK — A coalition of Jewish groups is providing more than $100,000 in aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan.

JOINTThe Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief, which is made up of 14 organizations and coordinated by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, convened Thursday in New York to allocate the money to several groups providing aid to Syrian refugees in refugee camps in Jordan, a JDC spokesman told JTA.
