The US Treasury imposed sanctions on Thursday against six individuals and three companies it said had funneled millions of dollars to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s elite Quds Force, just days after President Donald Trump withdrew from the landmark 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

Russia’s defense ministry said on Thursday that Syria had shot down more than half of the missiles fired at it overnight by Israel, RIA news agency reported.According to the report, the Israeli strike was carried out by 28 planes which fired at least 60 missiles, including 10 surface-to-surface missiles.

A report in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida said that the United States gave clearance to assassinate Qassem Soleiman, the commander of the overseas branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Haaretz reported Monday.
