FIFA breaks on rules by excluding only Israelis from upcoming World Cup

Although the FIFA Ethics Code prohibits host countries from discriminating against fans based on their nationality, the advocacy group StandWithUs petitioned the Int’l Football Association as to why Israel was not on the list of countries that require a visa to attend the 2022 World Cup.

The Israel advocacy group StandWithUs called on the international soccer governing FIFA to ensure Israelis would be allowed to visit Qatar during the World Cup tournament in 2022.

The organization made the plea after it was revealed that Israel was not included in the online list of countries from which foreigners can obtain an entry visa to the Arab state for the purpose of attending the soccer competition. Continue Reading »

Wisconsin students pass BDS resolution blaming Israel for violence against African-Americans

 

During the debate over a divestment resolution, University of Wisconsin anti-Israel activists called the Jewish community “oppressors”, saying Jewish students oppose divestment against Israel because it threatens their “white privilege.”

The student government of the University of Wisconsin-Madison unanimously passed on Wednesday a divestment resolution targeting companies operating in many countries that included an amendment specifically about Israel.

An amendment added to the one-page resolution, which Jewish students said brought the resolution more in line with the proposal that failed a month ago, blames Israel for police violence against African-Americans, citing an exchange program in which senior American police officers travel to Israel to learn about counterterrorism, the pro-Israel organization StandWithUS said in a statement. UN censors Israeli exhibition by @StandWithUs highlighting Zionism, Israeli Arabs, Jerusalem

NEW YORK – An exhibition initiated by Israel’s permanent mission to the United Nations with the organization StandWithUs and expected to open at the UN headquarters on Monday, was partially censored by the international body this weekend.

Three out of 13 displays put together for the exhibition were disqualified by the UN, including one about Jerusalem, another about Israeli Arabs and a third about Zionism.

An Israel advocacy group has launched a transit campaign in opposition to anti-Israel ads on Vancouver buses and light rail stations.

StandWithUs, a right-leaning Israel advocacy group, began running two advertisements on Monday meant to combat the ads put up by the Palestine Awareness Committee.

The pro-Israel ads include one series of three maps purporting to show “Jewish Loss of Land” and are dated from 1000 BCE until “Today.” Continue Reading »
