Jordan Condemns Israel for Police Response to Riots on Temple Mount

Jordan condemns the conduct of Israel Police personnel who responded to Arab rioters on the Temple Mount.

Hours after Arab rioters attacked Israeli security forces at the Temple Mount, Jordan criticized Israel on Wednesday over security forces’ conduct in reaction to the riots.

“The forces of the occupation … prevented religious officials entering (the compound) and cleared it of all Muslims, while at the same time enabling Jewish extremists to storm it, and pray with security forces protection,” government spokesman Mohammed Momeni said in a statement quoted by the AFP news agency.

He called on Israel to “stop its devastating campaign against the Al-Aqsa mosque, religious officials and worshippers,” slamming “police… firing bullets and bombs inside the compound, which injured dozens of people.” Continue Reading »

Police forces drive Arab assailants into Al-Aqsa Mosque then lock them inside after the rioters threw rocks, metal rods and Molotov cocktails.

Dozens of veiled rioters hurled stones and fireworks at police officers Wednesday morning on the Temple Mount. A police force entered the compound and pushed the assailants back into the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex; four officers were wounded and were treated by medics on location.

Five rioters were arrested. Police and Palestinian sources said the clashes were premeditated – a group of Palestinians had spent the night at the compound in order to intensify the tense atmosphere in the morning hours. Continue Reading »

An Israeli Ministry of Tourism proposal to enable Jews to enter the Temple Mount through a second gate, in an effort to reduce the waiting time for visitors, generated harsh opposition from the Palestinians.

The Temple Mount, which Muslims call the Noble Sanctuary, is both the holiest site for religious Jews and the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock.

Hundreds of Gaza pilgrims entered Jerusalem for 1st time since 2007

Israel eases travel restrictions for Muslim pilgrims as part Jerusalem’s new policy following the IDF’s ‘Operation Protective Edge’.

 

Some 500 residents of the Gaza Strip traveled Sunday to pray at Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque, the first time residents of the Hamas-controlled territory have been allowed to the holy city since 2007.

The three-day Muslim Feast of the Sacrifice, known as Id al-Adha, commenced Friday evening.

Israel issued the permits to Gazans aged 60 and over as part of a policy to ease restrictions on Gaza residents following the end of its 50-day war with Hamas.

International campaign to build 3rd Temple raises over $100,000 in donations

 

Temple Institute says its 2 month campaign secured over $100,000 in donations from 900 donors in 30 countries.

A 60-day international crowdfunding campaign to finance the construction of a modern Third Temple on the Temple Mount garnered $105,000 worth of donations from over 900 donors around the globe by Rosh Hashana, the Temple Institute said Sunday.

According to a statement from the right-wing organization – dedicated to educating world Jewry about the centrality of the Temple Mount to Jewish life and “recreating every aspect of the Holy Temple” – its crowdfunding campaign received the donations from 30 countries. Continue Reading »

Dozens of masked youth, who set up blockades at the entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, started throwing firecrackers, rocks and stones at police forces stationed at the Mugrabi Gate.

PMO orders removal of unauthorized, temporary bridge to Temple Mount’s Mughrabi Gate

 

On August 6, PM Binyamin Netanyahu made it clear at a press conference that Israel had no intention of altering the status quo on the Temple Mount.

The Prime Minister’s Office ordered the dismantling of a foot bridge under construction from the Western Wall Plaza to the Temple Mount to supplement the  Mughrabi Bridge, government officials confirmed Wednesday.

Ceasefires, truces and bilateral agreements will never bring the peace most people in the Middle East desire. Only by following the biblical model, including the rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem, can genuine peace be achieved, argues an Israeli organization dedicated to that goal.

“Every prophet of Israel, without exception, prophesied that the Temple would be rebuilt, ushering a new era of universal harmony and peace,” wrote the Temple Institute as an intro to its new crowd-funding campaign at Indiegogo.

20 masked Arab stone-throwers attack police on Temple Mount

About 20 masked Palestinians hurled stones at police forces at the Mughrabi Bridge at the end of Friday prayers on the Temple Mount.

Police forces managed to push the masked men into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, restored calm to the area and the dispersion of the worshippers from the complex continued as normal.

Eight of the stone throwers have been arrested.

Two weeks ago, the Temple Mount was closed for visitors following rioting of masked Palestinians, who were throwing stones at policeman and civilians and barricaded themselves in the Al-Aqsa mosque. Continue Reading »

Jordan Condemns Israel for Permitting Jews to Ascend on Temple Mount

Jordan condemns Israel’s heavy deployment of  police and IDF soldiers at the Temple Mount, claiming Israel is in violation of int’l law.

The Temple Mount became Jewish again on Tuesday, and Jordan didn’t like it.

Temple organizations reported Tuesday morning that about 400 Jews had ascended to the Mount in the morning hours, and that police allowed them in without undue delays.

In Face of Arab Outrage, Jerusalem Synagogue Destroyed by Jordan to be Rebuilt

The Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) announced Thursday that a senior Hamas operative arrested at the Allenby bridge last month revealed during interrogation that Hamas uses the Islamic Movement in Israel as a front to promote its activities within Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Israel’s deputy minister of religious affairs, Eli Ben-Dahan (Jewish Home), reiterated in a video posted to YouTube this week that the Israeli government is working on new regulations that would finally permit Jews to pray at Judaism’s holiest site, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
