Jerusalem court rules Jewish prayer on Temple Mount permissible

Yehudah Glick wins NIS 650K law suit against the Israel Police for banning him for 2 years from visiting the Temple Mount for previously uttering a Jewish prayer at the site.

Activists hailed what they labeled as an historic victory on Monday, after the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court issued a ruling ostensibly backing claims that Jews be allowed to pray on the Temple Mount.

Israel Police Arrest Jew on Temple Mount for Non-Violent Response to Islamic Hecklers

After being shouted at, Prof. Yoel Elitzur was arrested Thursday for responding with, “Hashem, – He is God” (in Hebrew) to Islamists who yelled repeatedly, ‘Allahu Akbar’ at him.

Rabbi and Professor Yoel Elitzur was arrested Thursday morning by Israeli police on the Temple Mount, fellow Temple Mount rights activists said.

Palestinians Harass American Muslim Fact-Finding Group Visiting Temple Mount

 

Muslim leadership group, including former mayor of Teaneck, New Jersey, was heckled & abused by Palestinians hooligans after arriving on Temple Mount.

It’s not only Jews who aren’t tolerated on the Temple Mount. It’s anyone, of any faith suspected of having any ties to the Jews, as devout Muslim Mohammed Hameeduddin, the popular former mayor of Teaneck, New Jersey, discovered while visiting Jerusalem over the weekend.

Muslim Cleric Advocates for Jews to Pray on Judaism’s Temple Mount

Jordanian Sheikh Yassin Al-‘Ajlouni acknowledges Judaism’s historical & spiritual  connection to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount & wants Muslims to establish a Jewish place of worship.

A prominent Jordanian Muslim cleric last week said that Jews should be permitted to pray atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, which is Judaism’s holiest site. Though the holy site is currently under Israeli sovereignty, Jews and Christians are strictly prohibited from even mouthing silent prayers while visiting.

Like most Jews and many Christians, Sheikh Yassin Al-’Ajlouni ascertained that control of the Temple Mount is “the most important issue of our times,” but said he saw no problem in permitting Jews to pray there.

Although the current Temple Mount debate focuses on Jewish and Muslim worship, the holy site also has religious significance to Christians. Who practices their religion on the Temple Mount is a very different question to who can stake religious claim to the holy site.

PLO Urges Media Outlets & Journalists Not to Use the Term, ‘Temple Mount’

In a blatant attempt to further erase Jewish history, and strengthen the propaganda war against Israel, Mahmoud Abbas’s faction has sent out a notice to journalists that they should use ‘Al Aqsa Mosque Compound’ in describing Judaism’s most holy site.

PA chief Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has issued special instructions to members of the international media, urging them to stop using the term “Temple Mount,” and to instead refer to the holy site as “the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound” or “Haram al-Sharif/Noble Sanctuary.”

In a blatant attempt to impose a discourse erasing any reference to the Jewish character of the site, the PLO “media advisory” claims that the “Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound, sometimes referred to as the Noble Sanctuary (“Haram al-Sharif” in Arabic), is the compound that contains Al Aqsa building itself, ablution fountains, open spaces for prayer, monuments and the Dome of the Rock building. White House Supports Suppression of Religious Freedoms to Jews on Temple Mount

The Temple Mount will be open Friday to Muslim men over the age of 50 and to women of all ages, the Israeli police announced Thursday evening after on Wednesday it decided to close the compound until further notice amid the recent escalation in violence in east Jerusalem and Wednesday night’s attempted assassination on a Jewish right wing activist.

Israel PM Allows PA Prime Minister Hamdallah Pray on Temple Mount

Hamdallah, head of Palestinian unity gov’t with Hamas, was accompanied with PA’s Jerusalem ‘governor’ to pray at the site where they banned Jews from praying.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has followed the Jordanian Waqf (Islamic trust) directives banning Jews from praying on the Temple Mount – but on Monday, he and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon did let Palestinian Authority (PA) unity government President Rami Hamdallah pray at the site.

The permission given to Hamdallah was announced through the semi-official PA news site Wafa.

According to the reports, not only would the head of the PA unity government with Hamas be allowed to pray at the holiest site in Judaism, but he would be accompanied by the PA “governor” of Jerusalem Adna al-Husseini and senior officials from the PA Security Forces. Continue Reading »

Planned Riots on Temple Mount Force Israel Police to Restrict Muslim Entry

 

Israel Police to allow the entry of Muslim male worshipers over 50 yrs-old onto the Temple Mount following intelligence information about additional planned riots.

The Israel Police will restrict the entry of Muslim worshipers to the Temple Mount on Wednesday, due to intelligence information that was received about plans by Arabs to riot at the compound, as they have done several times already in recent days.

The decision was made by the Jerusalem District Commander of the police following an assessment conducted Tuesday evening.
