Jerusalem court rules Jewish prayer on Temple Mount permissible

Yehudah Glick wins NIS 650K law suit against the Israel Police for banning him for 2 years from visiting the Temple Mount for previously uttering a Jewish prayer at the site.

 

Activists hailed what they labeled as an historic victory on Monday, after the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court issued a ruling ostensibly backing claims that Jews be allowed to pray on the Temple Mount.

Muslim Cleric Advocates for Jews to Pray on Judaism’s Temple Mount

Jordanian Sheikh Yassin Al-‘Ajlouni acknowledges Judaism’s historical & spiritual  connection to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount & wants Muslims to establish a Jewish place of worship.

A prominent Jordanian Muslim cleric last week said that Jews should be permitted to pray atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, which is Judaism’s holiest site. Though the holy site is currently under Israeli sovereignty, Jews and Christians are strictly prohibited from even mouthing silent prayers while visiting.

PLO Urges Media Outlets & Journalists Not to Use the Term, ‘Temple Mount’

PA chief Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has issued special instructions to members of the international media, urging them to stop using the term “Temple Mount,” and to instead refer to the holy site as “the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound” or “Haram al-Sharif/Noble Sanctuary.”

In a blatant attempt to impose a discourse erasing any reference to the Jewish character of the site, the PLO “media advisory” claims that the “Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound, sometimes referred to as the Noble Sanctuary (“Haram al-Sharif” in Arabic), is the compound that contains Al Aqsa building itself, ablution fountains, open spaces for prayer, monuments and the Dome of the Rock building. Israel PM Allows PA Prime Minister Hamdallah Pray on Temple Mount

Hamdallah, head of Palestinian unity gov’t with Hamas, was accompanied with PA’s Jerusalem ‘governor’ to pray at the site where they banned Jews from praying.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has followed the Jordanian Waqf (Islamic trust) directives banning Jews from praying on the Temple Mount – but on Monday, he and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon did let Palestinian Authority (PA) unity government President Rami Hamdallah pray at the site.

The permission given to Hamdallah was announced through the semi-official PA news site Wafa.

According to the reports, not only would the head of the PA unity government with Hamas be allowed to pray at the holiest site in Judaism, but he would be accompanied by the PA “governor” of Jerusalem Adna al-Husseini and senior officials from the PA Security Forces. Continue Reading »

Israel Police to allow the entry of Muslim male worshipers over 50 yrs-old onto the Temple Mount following intelligence information about additional planned riots.

The Israel Police will restrict the entry of Muslim worshipers to the Temple Mount on Wednesday, due to intelligence information that was received about plans by Arabs to riot at the compound, as they have done several times already in recent days.

The decision was made by the Jerusalem District Commander of the police following an assessment conducted Tuesday evening.
