Tourists & Jews Forced to Wait Hours to Ascend Temple Mount

Jews & Christians were again blatantly discriminated against this week as hundreds were forced to wait for hours to visit the Temple Mount.

Jews and tourists who attempted to ascend the Temple Mount this week were subjected to long lines and waits of hours to enter the Temple compound, while Muslims were able to enter the area unhindered. That, said Yehuda Glick of the Liba Project for Jewish Freedom at the Temple Mount, is a clear case of racism and discrimination. “It is hard to believe that the state does not already recognize the Temple Mount as a Muslim site, with anyone who is a non-Muslim an unwelcome annoyance,” Glick said. Jordan Condemns Israel Over Temple Mount Restrictions

Jordanian officials summoned Israel’s Ambassador to the country to protest ‘Israeli provocations’ on the Temple Mount.

Jordan’s government-controlled Petra news agency said Monday that government officials had called in the Israeli Ambassador to the country to protest the “Israeli provocations” on the Temple Mount Sunday. Israel closed the Mount to members of the Waqf after Arab youths rioted again Sunday, throwing rocks and stones at Israeli police.

Israel Police Place Restrictions on Temple Mount Entry for Muslims After Riots

New intel of further Arab riots force authorities to limit entry to Muslim men over the age of 50, women of any age and holders of ‘Blue’ Israel identification.

Following intelligence information received by Jerusalem police on plans by Muslim visitors to the Temple Mount to disrupt the public order at the end of their prayers, entrance to the holy site was limited to Muslim visitors.

Temple Mount closed To Jews after Israel Policeman hurt in clashes

 

Temple Mount rioters dispersed using stun grenades as 2nd policeman hurt in Old City stone-throwing incident when masked Arab youths hurled stones at Israeli security forces.

Dozens of Arab youths, some masked, rioted on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Wednesday morning, throwing stones and fire crackers at security forces at the site. A policeman was lightly hurt.

The site had opened to visitors as planned, but was closed after the clashes began.

The rioters were dispersed using stun grenades and other crowd control measures. An electrical junction box at the entrance to a mosque sustained some damage. Continue Reading »

Dozens of Hamas men have taken over the Mount, waving Hamas flags, and are “not allowing Jews and tourists into the Mount,” said the activists.

“Hundreds of Jews who came to the Temple Mount for Pesach were astonished to find a police representative standing at the entrance gate and announcing that the Mount had been closed off to Jews after Hamas had taken over the Mount and threatened violence against any Jews who enter,” the Temple organizations reported in a news communique. Muslim worshippers threw stones, firecrackers and Molotov cocktails at police forces at the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque found within the Temple Mount compound in Jerusalem’s Old City on Sunday morning.

A police force that entered the holy site stopped the rioters and dispersed the crowd. Two policemen were lightly injured and one woman was arrested for disruption of public order.

The Temple Mount was consequently closed for visitors.

Report: Israel Police Ignore Temple Mount Disrespect & Damage

On the Temple Mount visitors are often witness to picnics, weddings – and soccer games, with Arab children competing in a sweaty, curse-filled game at the holiest site in Judaism. Many Jewish visitors have complained to authorities about this, with little intervention on the part of police.

EU diplomats warn of impending regional firestorm over Temple Mount

The EU report contains an implicit criticism by Muslim religious authorities & Palestinian politicians to deny the historic affiliation Jews have to the Temple Mount.

 

 

European Union diplomats stationed in Jerusalem and Ramallah are warning of regional conflagration over the Temple Mount. A March 18 internal report to Brussels raises caution around the changing status quo at the holy site and the growing tension triggered by the demands of right-wing Jewish groups.

MK Feiglin Attacked on Temple Mount by Muslim Rioters

MK Feiglin criticizes authorities for ‘weakness’, after the police’s response to Muslim rioting was banning Jews and tourists from the holy site. “It is clear to the Palestinians that violence pays off. Israeli weakness encourages this violence.” observed Feiglin.

Two Arab rioters were arrested Thursday for attempting to attack MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud Beteinu) as he visited the Temple Mount. Hundreds of rioters threw stones at Feiglin and several individuals who accompanied him. Feiglin was forced to leave the site, and police took steps to break up the riot.

Riyad Mansour, the PA’s observer at the UN, said that regular visits to the Temple Mount by Jewish worshippers and Israeli officials were “provocative” and could further enrage the entire Muslim Arab world.

Arab League Considering UN Intervention Over Al-Aqsa Issue

Arab League tabled the likelihood of voicing a complaint to the UN Security Council over alleged “Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa compound.”

The Arab League discussed on Wednesday the possibility of filing a complaint to the UN Security Council over alleged “Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa compound”, the Palestinian Authority-based Ma’an news agency reported.

The discussion was part of an “emergency session” that the Arab League called on Tuesday, at the request of the Palestinian Authority (PA) envoy.

The discussion came in response to Tuesday’s Knesset debate about extending Israeli sovereignty over the Temple Mount.

According to Ma’an, the Arab League council called upon the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to spread awareness regarding the “dangers” threatening the compound in order to gain support for the complaint. Continue Reading »
