Kerry Tells UN Human Rights Council They’re Obsessed With “Unbalanced Focus” on Israel

“We will oppose any group within the UN system (attempting) to regularly and arbitrarily de-legitimize Israel,” the top US diplomat warns the council in Geneva.

US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday slammed the  for what he called its “unbalanced focus” on Israel and said he would defend the latter against allegations of abuses.

Unable to Enter Gaza, UN Gaza Investigative Committee Hears Testimonies in Jordan

Jerusalem has forbidden entry into Gaza and the West Bank by the UN team which is seeking possible war-crime charges against Israel during the last Gaza war.

 

The United Nations committee investigating possible war crimes by Israel during last summer’s Gaza war has spent the past week in Jordan, listening to the testimonies of victims’ families and civil society organizations, Ma’an Palestinian news agency reported on Sunday.

Islamic Representatives at UN Say Israel Has No Moral Right to Self-Defense Against Hamas

Muslim representatives at UN Human Rights Council protested Israel’s actions in Gaza this summer, saying it can not be called self-defense.

The representative from Pakistan insisted that it was “morally abhorrent” and “legally incorrect” to label Israel’s actions in Gaza this summer as self-defense. The United Arab Emirates agreed, and asserted that as an occupying power, Israel had no right to use military force in self-defense.

It appears Jerusalem will not cooperate with the U.N. investigative committee probing Israel’s role in Operation Protective Edge, in light of Professor William Schabas’ comments against Israel and its PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

A week after the cease-fire that ended Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip, the committee set up by the U.N. Human Rights Council to probe the conflict met for the first time to determine the nature of the investigation.

Israel, the United States and the European Union have all dismissed a UN commission of inquiry into possible war crimes committed during the Gaza war as little more than a sideshow with a foregone conclusion.

The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Monday named a three-man panel to investigate allegations of Israeli war crimes during the Jewish state’s month-long battle against Gaza’s terrorist infrastructure.

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the committee amounted to a “kangaroo court” whose findings were “predetermined.”

The Palestinian Authority’s envoy to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has said the PA has no hope of pressing charges against Israel in international courts – because Palestinian terrorist groups are far worse violators of international law themselves.

Rachel Frenkel, mother of abducted teen Naftali Frenkel, has flown to Geneva to appear before the UN Human Rights Council, Ynet learned. Tomorrow, she will be joined by the families of the two other teens, Gil-Ad Shaer and Eyal Yifrach, kidnapped by Hamas.

The Palestinians on Saturday welcomed the almost unanimous show of support they received at the United Nations Human Rights Council as it ended its 25th session in Geneva.

Four resolutions condemning Israeli treatment of Palestinians in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza passed by a 46-to-1 vote. Italy, Germany and France on behalf of the European Union were among the nations that stood against Israel.

UN Human Rights Council exemplifies the absurdity of it’s name

 

Human Rights Council makes a mockery of it’s mandate by completely ignoring the world’s victims in its self satisfying personal agenda.

Ignoring continuing Syrian atrocities against it populace on a regular bases and the IDF providing emergency medical attention to the wounded Syrians in Israeli hospitals, the UN Human Rights Council passed with the support of 33 members Agenda Item 7, condemning ‘Israeli treatment of the Syrian population on the Golan Heights.’
