In an article published in a local Israeli newspaper around the time of Israel’s 65th Independence Day, Rabbi Moshe Chaim Har-Noy puzzled over the fact that there are still so many Bible-believing Jews who refuse to celebrate the Jewish state’s modern rebirth.

Austria began withdrawing their peacekeepers from Syrian Golan Heights

Because of the escalating encounters between Syrian rebels & gov’t forces, which left 2 UN soldiers wounded last week, Austria decided to pull out of the region and entered the protection of Israel.

Austrian troops made up the biggest contingent in the 1,000-strong UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

Abbas declares to Colombian President: Palestinians want peace

Abbas tells President Juan Manuel Santos of Columbia, Palestinians committed to peace process based on pre-1967 lines.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday reiterated the Palestinians’ commitment to the peace process with Israel on the basis of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Abbas’s statement came during a meeting in Ramallah with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

The PA’s official news agency Wafa reported that Abbas briefed his guest on the latest developments surrounding the peace process and international efforts to resume talks between the Palestinians and Israel.

Almost seven decades later, Holocaust memorials continue to proliferate.

Hardly an unusual sight in big American cities, but Holocaust museums & memorials are cropping up almost 70 years after WWII, in more out-of-the-way places like Terre Haute, Ind. or Alexandria, La.

Instead, the gatherers stood silently, symbolic shovels in hand, on the immaculate lawn where the privately funded $400,000 monument will soon rise. A succession of speakers delivered somber homilies remembering one of the darkest chapters in human history.

Yet Another Video of Naked IDF Soldiers Goes Viral

 

After 1st set of naked photos of IDF girls gain global glory as the ‘Gaza Strip,’ now a new video of female soldiers dancing ‘half-naked’ goes public.

One week after the naked IDF soldiers’ photos scandal, which reached headlines in tabloids worldwide, a video distributed through social media is threatening to one-up the last high jinks.

IDF girls“Dance like whores on a pole,” one of the soldiers is heard saying at the beginning of the clip. Contrary to the previous photographs, the identity of the participants in the video is unknown, as is the date it was shot.

Turkish News reports: Mossad chief made secret visit to meet Erdogan

Turkey’s Hurriyet Daily News reports that Tamir Pardo met Turkish counterpart to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, the situation in Syria & the current protests against Erdogan.

Mossad director Tamir Pardo secretly visited Ankara several days ago and met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan. According to a report in the Hurriyet Daily News, Pardo asked Fidan to arrange a meeting for him with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

If hareidi-religious Jews are forced to enlist in the IDF, many Jews will no longer see Israel as their home, MK Meir Porush (Yahadut Hatorah) has warned.

Porush met recently with French Ambassador to Israel Cristophe Bigot. During the meeting, Bigot asked Porush what the hareidi-religious community in Israel thinks of the government’s plan to require more hareidi men to enlist in the army.

4 Lebanese citizens receive U.S. sanctions for helping Hezbollah in West Africa

Hezbollah representatives penalized for recruiting & fundraising on behalf of militant terrorist group.

The United States imposed sanctions on four Lebanese citizens on Tuesday, accusing them of fundraising and recruiting for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah in West Africa.

The U.S. Treasury Department said the four men were sanctioned for effectively acting as “ambassadors” for Hezbollah, which Washington considers a terrorist group. They were acting in Sierra Leone, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and the Gambia, it said.

It’s Official! Google announces acquisition of Israeli app Waze

World Record paid for app.  Acquisition comes after speculation involving Facebook & Apple. Google says Waze remains in Israel.

Netanyahu calls to congratulate owners and thanks them for their ‘contribution’ to putting Israel on the map and the future taxes they’ll be adding to the country’s treasury.

 

 

 

Google and Waze on Tuesday announced that the search giant had purchased the Israeli traffic app, but did not specify the sum of the deal.”[Google’s leaders] share our vision of a global mapping service, updated in real time by local communities, and wish to help us accelerate,” Waze CEO Noam Bardin wrote in a post on the company’s site.

Israel to receive about $55 million in taxes from the $1.1 billion Waze deal

 

Since most of Waze’s stockholders are foreign residents they are not obligated to pay taxes in Israel.

The government is expected to receive only about 200 million shekels ($55 million) in taxes from the reported $1.3 billion acquisition deal signed between Google and the Waze traffic and navigation app. While the final amount of the tax payment will depend on the ultimate structure of the deal, most of the Israeli startup company’s stockholders are foreign residents who are notobligated to pay taxes in Israel.

85% of Israelis oppose releasing prisoners to commence peace-talks

 

New poll shows Palestinian demand to release detainees from prison as a precondition to appear at  peace-talks, “unacceptable” to majority of Israeli Jews.

 

The Palestinian Authority’s demand that Israel release terrorists from prison as a precondition for peace talks is unacceptable to 85 percent of Israeli Jews, according to a Smith Research poll sponsored by the Knesset’s Land of Israel caucus.

Asked whether they would support releasing terrorists as a gesture to bring the Palestinians to the negotiating table, 57% said they would strongly oppose it, 28% said were against it, 13% said they supported it and just 2% said they were strongly in favor of such a move.

After the fire was extinguished by airport crew, airline convinces the majority of the 200 Israelis to re-board & fly home.

An airliner full of Israeli tourists was evacuated of passengers overnight Tuesday at a Bucharest airport moments before takeoff, as a fire broke out. The passengers’ cabin became filled with smoke, causing one man to sustain a smoke inhalation injury that necessitated his hospitalization.
