2 Israelis & British national arrested in Jordan

 

The father of one of the arrested Israelis says a Palestinian police officer, originally from Jenin, was taking revenge for administrative arrests in Israel by falsely accusing the 3 of posing as a ‘security’ threat.

Two Israelis and a British national were arrested in Jordan on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday. According to some reports, the three were released on house arrest at a hotel in Amman, while other reports say they are still in custody.

It’s Beginning All Over Again: European Countries Are Boycotting Jewish Businesses

The European Union on Thursday officially banned the import of poultry & eggs from only Jewish businesses in Judea, Samaria & Jerusalem.

The European Union on Thursday banned the import of poultry and eggs from Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, and from most of Jerusalem, the Walla news site reported on Thursday. The 28-nation bloc informed the Israeli Agriculture Ministry that it recognized the Ministry’s authority to supervise agricultural products only within the 1948 armistice lines. Beijing buys Tnuva for NIS 8.6 billion ($2.45 billion)

The Chinese gov’t-owned Bright Food Group said all development, production & management will remain in Israel.

The Chinese government’s Bright Food Group signed an agreement this morning to buy control of Tnuva Food Industries Ltd. from Apax Partners. The sale is being made at a company value of NIS 8.6 billion which will bring a profit of NIS 4 billion to Apax, which has a 56 percent stake in the company, on which it will not be required to pay any tax.

Israel’s US-backed David’s Sling missile shield is unlikely to be deployed by next year as originally scheduled, an Israeli defense official said on Wednesday, citing budget shortfalls.

David’s Sling, which is designed to shoot down various aerial threats using interceptor missiles manufactured by US firm Raytheon Co., is billed by Israel as a future bulwark against foes like Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Syria and Iran.

The article on the front page of Yeni Akit on Tuesday declared that the son-in-law of Alp Gurkan, the owner of the Soma mine where the disaster occurred, is a Jew. The paper was roundly condemned on social media.

Three Palestinian men were killed and four others injured in an explosion in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources said.

A spokesman of the Hamas-run Gaza ministry of health told Ma’an that the circumstances behind the explosion were not clear.

Ashraf al-Qidra added that ambulances evacuated two dead men and one critically injured person.
