Arab League: ‘Hamas-Fatah belligerency hinders efforts to rebuild Gaza’

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elarabi said on Sunday that the mistrust and animosity  between Fatah & Hamas was dampening efforts at rehabilitating Gaza.

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elarabi said on Sunday that the dispute between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority was hindering efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip.

Elarabi told the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper that the Arab League was holding consultations with donor countries to find a way to help the residents of the Gaza Strip in light of the ongoing power struggle between the two Palestinian parties. Continue Reading »

UPDATE: “You ruined my life” accuses grossly disruptive passenger about video upload

After upload of verbal altercation on Israir flight spreads throughout the Internet, abusive passenger issues insincere apology branded as ‘incomplete & qualified’.

Following the online release of a video depicting passengers on an Israir flight screaming and swearing at a flight attendant and threatening him, the two sides have begun to speak out and give their version of events.

The flight attendant, Nir Levov, explained the course of events to Ynet. “The story began long before the video,” he said.

Stolen Torah Returned to Jewish Community by Iranian Police

Jewish Iranian MP thanks police for the return of an ‘invaluable’ Torah scroll that was among several ancient manuscripts that ‘disappeared’ from a Shiraz synagogue.

Iran’s FARS news agency reports that an ancient hand-written Torah that had been stolen from a synagogue in southern Iran was found and returned by Iran’s paramilitary Basij police force to the Jewish community.

The report has not as yet been confirmed by other sources.

A number of ancient Torah manuscripts were reported lost about two weeks ago from a synagogue in Shiraz, the capital city of Iran’s Southern Fars province.

City of Jerusalem CC camera records terrorist attack and dramatic video footage by passer-by shows Jerusalem mayor instructing his security team to lift Palestinian terrorist onto sidewalk.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and members of his security detail apprehended and wrestled to the ground a Palestinian terrorist just moments after he stabbed an ultra-Orthodox Jewish bystander near one of the entrances to the Old City.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and administered treatment to the victim, who was wounded moderately in the attack.

Video footage shows Barkat’s guards holding down the Palestinian moments after the incident.

The ‘Ugly Israeli’ surfaces again: Family of 3 hurl abuse at flight attendant

Israir flight attendants shared video on Facebook of threatening verbal attack by family over the purchase of chocolates that broke out on a flight to Varna.

An Israeli passenger on an Israir flight to Varna verbally attacked a flight attendant during an argument that broke out over the purchase of tax-free chocolate on the plane.

When the argument got heated, the passenger’s sister came to her aid, and swore at the flight attendant. Later, another relative got up from his seat, swore at the flight attendant and threatened to hit him.

“You’re my employee, I paid for a flight ticket and you’ll sell me the chocolate,” the passenger told the flight attendant, who was busy with another passenger, while other passengers around her tried to calm her down. Continue Reading »

Israel Buys 14 US Made F-35 Stealth Fighters At $110 Million Each

As in all IAF aircraft,  Israeli weapons and aviation systems will be integrated into the stealth aircraft, injecting millions into local economy.

Israel is to purchase 14 F-35 stealth fighters from US aerospace giant Lockheed Martin at a cost of around $110 million each, the defense ministry said Sunday.

“The defense ministry will purchase an additional 14 F-35s for around $3 billion, each plane costing an average of $110 million,” a ministry statement said.

The $2.82 billion deal, which includes other technological and training elements, was signed at the weekend after being approved by a ministerial committee in November.

Israeli-Made ‘Taxibot’ Makes Operational Debut at Frankfurt Airport

Israel’s Taxibot remote-controlled tow truck allows the pilot to drive the plane from the terminal to the runway, without having to burn considerable amounts of fuel.

The Israel Aviation Industry’s “Taxibot” was designed to ferry the most commonly used passenger airplane, the Boeing 737, from its terminal or parking, to the runway. The Taxibot was first tested on a commercial Lufthansa flight, and later, after a thorough and prolonged review, was approved by Israeli and European aviation authorities.
