A decade following the Second Lebanon War and on the background of warnings of Hezbollah threats, a few dozen residents of Kibbutz Ma’ayan Baruch kibbutz in the Upper Galilee participated on Tuesday morning in an evacuation drill, the first of its kind. Google chief: Israel’s tech 2nd only to America’s Silicon Valley

Formerly Google chief executive Eric Schmidt says, “For a relatively small country, Israel has a super role in technological innovation.”

A top Google official on Tuesday hailed Israel’s tech sector, saying it trailed only Silicon Valley in the United States when it comes to “initiatives.”

Eric Schmidt, formerly Google chief executive and now executive chairman of its parent company Alphabet, said Israel, a country of only around eight million people, was punching far above its weight in technology.

Knesset to decide on limited public transport on Saturdays

Yesh Atid Knesset members seek to allow minibuses to run to & from city centers on Shabbat and holidays, allowing the economically weaker sector travel, not just car-owners.

Yesh Atid MKs Yael German, Karin Elharrar and Yoel Razvozov intend to put forth a private member’s bill that would allow local authorities to operate public transportation on Saturday. The bill would permit minibuses to run within each locality and on intercity roads.

#BDSfail: Germany’s second largest bank shuts down anti-Israel BDS account

 

Israel’s Security Minister Erdan urges European banks to follow Germany’s closure of the anti-Israel account because of BDS activity, which is believed to be the 1st German bank taking such action to stop the movement.

 

BERLIN – in the latest of a series of similar account closures by international banks, German bank Commerzbank has shut down a boycott Israel account, the first action of its kind in that country, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Brazil: UNESCO vote denying Jewish link to Kotel was Arabs spreading Hatred

 

Brazil’s Foreign Minister Jose Serra says his gov’t will change its vote on the UNESCO resolution, which declared Jewish sites ‘Muslim’ as “a pretext of the Arab world to spread hatred against Israel.”

Brazil’s Foreign Minister Jose Serra intends to change Brazil’s anti-Israel vote given in April at a United Nations session, where rights for cultural assets in the areas conquered in the Six-Day War were discussed,  Brazilian media reported.

UNHRC Chief Threatens Israel for Noncompliance in Human Rights Investigation

 

Israel’s refusal to cooperate with the UN stems from Jerusalem’s deep conviction that the embedded, one-sided investigation is akin to a “kangaroo” court whose anti-Israel outcome is already predetermined.

Several Arab journalists who condemned the Palestinian terrorist attack at the Sarona Market, suffered abusive, hostile responses, that also demonstrated signs of the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Governments across the globe neglected to officially condemn the deadly terror attack in Tel Aviv’s Sarona Market, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t voices in the Arab world who spoke out against the shooting. Sadly, these voices have met with negative, even hostile, responses.

‘Future Weapons’ tested by IDF for likely Third Lebanon War with Hezbollah

 

Israel Defense Forces held its largest war simulation against Hezbollah in Lebanon using its newest, most cutting edge weapons systems.

An IDF report has come out following a recent exercise carried out at the battle laboratory of the Land Forces Weapons Department located in the Tel Hashomer base outside of Tel Aviv.

Palestinian terrorist neutralized in attempted knife-attack on IDF soldiers

 

IDF soldiers neutralized a Palestinian terrorist, avoiding injury to themselves but seriously injuring the attacker after he dismounted his bike and ran towards the soldiers with his knife drawn.

On Friday night, an attacker attempted to stab IDF soldiers outside the Shomron Regional Brigade. The soldiers prevented the attack by shooting the perpetrator, and no IDF injuries were reported.
