Shin Bet reports: Israeli Arabs are joining al-Qaeda

 

Israel’s Security agency says Israeli Arabs are joining rebel forces in Syria operating with al-Qaeda, and whose training may be used later against Israel.

A disconcerting Shin Bet assessment warns that Arab Israelis are joining rebel forces in Syria and working with al-Qaeda terrorists.

According to the review, submitted to the State Prosecutor’s Office and the Supreme Court, there is a possibility that Arab Israelis who are being trained in Syria may use their knowledge against Israel – both by spreading ideologies and by using intel and military capabilities they’ve learned there.

4 Israeli Arabs convicted of attempted homicide for lynching Jewish terrorist

Haifa district court convicts 7 defendants of attempted homicide and aggravated assault for beating to death Natan-Zada, after he opened fire on a bus in Shfaram in August 2005, killing four.

 

A Haifa court on Monday acquitted seven Israeli Arabs of attempted murder in the lynching of Jewish terrorist Eden Natan-Zada, but convicted four of them of attempted homicide and two more of aggravated assault.

Arab IDF Soldiers: Arab MK Zoabi Should Move to Gaza

2 Arab Christian female IDF soldiers say that MK Hanin Zoabi, a Palestinian Muslim who objects to Arabs joining the army, does not speak for them.

“As Israeli Christians who speak Arabic we have the right to serve the country with pride and not be ashamed,” added Rajda Jarisi of Nazareth.

Two Arab Christian female Israelis who enlisted in the army this week have criticized MK Hanin Zoabi for her strong opposition to having Arabs join the IDF.

Israeli Arabs rally in Kafr Kanna & Sakhnin, in support of Morsi

Hundreds of Arab protesters gather to show support of Egyptian democracy, saying: The ‘people of Egypt chose Morsi, their choice must be honored’.

Some 250 people rallied Saturday, in the Galilee Arab towns of Sakhnin and Kafr Kanna, against the ouster of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

Protesters held signs with images of Morsi and the Egyptian flag, demanding that the Egyptian democracy be honored.

The demonstration in Sakhnin was organized by the Islamic movement and among the protesters were Mayor Mazen Ghanaim and MK Masud Ganaim (Ra’am-Ta’al). 

The Kafr Kanna rally was initiated by a group of students, one of whom reported that the demonstration was held in order to express their sympathy for the Egyptian people “who sacrificed their lives until they managed to topple the corrupt reign of Mubarak. Continue Reading »

Poll: Majority of Israeli Arabs Support Another Intifada

58% of Israel’s Arabs oppose a Jewish majority, support a Palestinian  Intifada & want Iran to possess nukes.

About 58% of the Arab citizens of Israel say that the Palestinian Authority Arabs would be justified in starting a violent rebellion (“intifada”) if the diplomatic process does not advance. A similar percentage advocate an “intifada” by Israeli Arab citizens if their situation does not improve considerably, according to a poll, which was carried out by Prof. Sami Samoha of Haifa University, with the Israeli Democracy Institute.

The views are in line with the call Monday by an Arab Knesset Member, for an Arab intifada inside Israel. Continue Reading »

More Israeli Arabs are Volunteering for National Service

Despite pressure from their more anti-Israel elders to shun the Jewish state, there’s a significant rise this year in the number of young Israeli Arabs volunteering for national service.

At a time when the Israeli government is struggling to get ultra-Orthodox Jews into the army, a record number of Israeli Arabs are volunteering for national service.

Despite calls from leaders in the Arab community to shun national service, 3,000 young Israeli Arabs answered the call this year, a 76 percent increase from the 1,700 who volunteered last year.

At a ceremony earlier this week in Haifa, the National Service Administration welcomed the 3,000th Arab volunteer this year, Suriah Suad, who will do her national service by volunteering in the maternity ward at Ziv Hospital in Safed. Continue Reading »

The NGOs that undermine non-Jews who wish to serve

Support for those who serve the IDF or in national service without reference to their race, gender, or religion are systematically stymied by NGOs that are funded by foreign gov’ts.

 

In 2010, Cpl. Eleanor Joseph became the first female Arab combat soldier in the IDF.

More Arabs volunteering for national service, but general population remains hostile

Many young Arabs are realizing the importance Israel places on military or national service, and the doors one can open by doing his or her part. Unfortunately peer pressure and a hostile community keep many from participating.

A growing number of Israeli Arabs are opting to do national service (an alternative to military service), and some even have a genuine desire to serve the State of Israel beyond their initial commitment. But, sadly, they continue to face harsh criticism and even hostility from within the Arab community.

Pressured to OK Arab School, Mayor Gives Definitive No to Segregation

In a definitive response to an appeal to create an Arab school in Upper Nazareth, the city’s Mayor rejected the proposal and vowed that no Muslim establishment would be erected on his watch – whether it be a mosque, a Muslim cemetery or an Arab school.

Together with her Jewish partners, Asma Agbarieh Zahalka leads Daam, the “Workers’ Party.” She aims to direct the political discourse to a wholly different area.

Against the backdrop of Syria’s ongoing war between Bashar Assad‘s loyalists and rebel forces, academic institutions in Syria have seen a drop in the number of Druze applicants. Up until last year, some 200 students applied to Syrian universities annually, but this year, Syrian academies said that only 58 Israel-based Druze students, a Syrian source reported.

Arab couple charges restaurant with racist policy

Muhamad & his wife Sama Sufri’s attempt to make restaurant reservations under their real names was denied each time, but when they used a fake Jewish name, their reservation was ‘miraculous’ accepted.

In an angry letter posted on Facebook, Muhamamd, 31, protested against “racism at the sushi restaurant”.
