IDF tanks respond to shots fired at IDF vehicle on Gaza border

 

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office reported that although there were no injuries to Israeli soldiers working near the Gaza border fence, Israel will respond to all acts of violence directed at its citizens, from Hamas controlled Gaza.

The IDF fired towards Hamas positions in the southern Gaza Strip in response to shots that were fired towards the IDF vehicle earlier Sunday, the IDF Spokesperson’s Office said.

According to the IDF, the rounds, fired by a tank, was in retaliation to gunfire which damaged an IDF vehicle working near the border fence earlier.

IDF soldier wounded as patrol comes under fire from Lebanon

BREAKING: IDF soldier wounded by Lebanese gunfire in unprovoked attack along Israel’s border with Lebanon.

An Israeli soldier was wounded by gunfire along the Lebanese border on Wednesday, and IDF spokesperson said.

“Shots were fired towards [IDF] forces on the border with Lebanon near Metullah, injuring a soldier,” a statement issued by the IDF read.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear and no further details are currently available.

Two people have been killed and nine others injured in a shooting along Tel Aviv’s Dizengoff Street.

Magen David Adom paramedics at the scene provided first aid treatment to four seriously injured victims – including two in critical condition – and three in moderate condition, as well as the fatally injured victim, who they were forced to pronounce dead at the scene.

Arab Shot Running Towards Iron Dome Position

IDF soldiers shoot at Arab man’s legs after storming the Iron Dome installation screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’.

Soldiers guarding an Iron Dome installation near the city of Eilat fired on an Arab man on Thursday after he ran at them screaming “Allahu Akbar” (Arabic for “G-d is great”).

Fearing a terrorist attack, the soldiers shot at the man’s legs in order to stop him. The man was hit and injured.

He was taken to Eilat’s Yoseftal Hospital. It is not yet clear whether the man is armed and was attempting a terrorist attack, or is mentally ill. Continue Reading »

Palestinians Shot Friday While Trying to Destroy Gaza Border Fence

IDF soldiers shot and wounded two Arab men from Gaza, one seriously and one moderately, in separate incidents Friday afternoon, AFP reported.

The military said soldiers opened fire to break up a violent demonstration by several Gazans who were throwing rocks at soldiers and rolling burning tires at the border fence.

Israel’s Defense Minister: Lebanese Army Will Put Killer-Soldier on Trial

The Lebanese army has arrested & will try the rogue soldier who, without justification, shot & murdered IDF soldier Shlomi Cohen ז”ל , reported Defense Minister Yaalon .

The Lebanese army has arrested the soldier who shot and killed IDF soldier Shlomi Cohen near the border on Sunday night, Moshe Yaalon said on Tuesday evening.

Yaalon’s comments were made during a tour of the Jordan Valley.

“This is a serious incident and the Lebanese government and the Lebanese army are responsible for this,” he declared, adding that there had been a meeting on Monday between the liaison officers of the Lebanese army and the IDF, attended by members of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), during which the Lebanese army reported the findings of its investigation of the shooting incident. The Lebanese soldier who shot dead IDF Master Sergeant Shlomi Cohen in an unprovoked attack Sunday evening has reportedly handed himself in to Lebanese authorities.

According to Lebanese media, after briefly disappearing in the aftermath of the attack and spending the night “hiding in a bush”, the unnamed soldier reported for duty at the Lebanese General Security post at the Ras al-Naqoura border crossing,  surrendering himself as the site where he committed the shooting just hours earlier.
