IDF Thwarts ISIS Attack on United Arab Emirates Airliner

Released: An Etihad Airways’ civilian airplane en route from Australia to Abu Dubi had been targeted by ISIS, but then Israel’s secretive cyber intelligence Unit 8200 stepped in and saved hundreds back in July 2017.

The IDF on Wednesday decided to provide a quick glimpse into the clandestine activity of Unit 8200, the Israeli military’s equivalent to America’s NSA. This secretive unit was able to thwart an ISIS attempt to blow up a civilian airplane en route from Australia to Abu Dubi. Planned underground concrete barrier to stop terror tunnels will encircle Gaza

 

The Ministry of Defense issued tenders for the construction of a concrete barrier that will completely encircle Gaza, be equipped with electronic sensors to detect vibrations (digging), and extend several stories below ground to neutralize any threat of Palestinian terror-tunnels.

An underground barrier to defend against Hamas attack tunnels is on the way following a call from the Defense Ministry for companies to bid to construct the new defensive line around the Gaza Strip.

The closed tender has been submitted to 20 Israeli contracting companies. The first part of the defensive underground barrier will go along 10 kilometers of the Strip, with plans to extend the barrier around the entirety of the 60 kilometer border with Israel – thereby completely encircling Gaza. Arrested Hamas militant gives details about Gaza’s tunnel network to Israel

The IDF revealed Tuesday that Israeli security forces had arrested a militant of the Hamas terror organization who was actively involved in plotting tunnel attacks from the Gaza Strip.

Rafah resident Ibrahim A’adel Shahada Shaer, 21, was arrested in early July as part of a joint Shin Bet [Israel Security Agency] and Israeli police operation, the IDF spokesperson said in a statement.

Shaer gave interrogators a plethora of detailed information regarding Hamas’ terror activities in Rafah, including how Hamas planned attacks during conflict and its intentions to use terror tunnels to carry out attacks against Israel civilians. Continue Reading »

Knesset Aide Was Overheard Saying: ‘We’ll slaughter 50 Jews at next soccer game’

 

The aide to Arab MK Masud Ganaim had his entry permit to the Knesset temporarily revoked by its security chief, after guard overhears remarks & reports them.
• MK Ganaim said, “I strongly condemn these comments, but [my aide] claims he said it in jest.”

Knesset Security Chief Yosef Griff on Wednesday revoked the entry permit to the Knesset for an aide to Arab MK Masud Ganaim (Ra’am-Ta’al).

Khaled Bashir, Ganaim’s parliamentary aid, was overheard in conversation recently by a Knesset security guard saying: “We’ll slaughter 50 Jews” at the soccer game next Sunday between Beitar Jerusalem and Bnei Sakhnin.

IDF Prevent Palestinian Terrorists From Attacking Samaria Community

IDF Soldiers, & the community’s civilian security patrol successfully apprehend & arrest Arab infiltrators to the community, averting a potentially horrific terrorist attack.

Tuesday night, Palestinians Authority (PA) Arabs infiltrated the community of Einav in Northern Samaria (Shomron).

Initial findings suggest the infiltrators had climbed over a fence. The PA Arabs were caught by soldiers of the Netzah Yehuda, (Nahal Hareidi) Brigade, stationed in the region.

When initial reports of the infiltration were reported residents of the community were immediately called to remain in their homes as soldiers along with the community’s own security patrol conducted a sweeping search of the area, arresting the infiltrators. Continue Reading »

IDF Orders Eilat Airport Closed Due to Terror Concerns

A security assessment in Southern Israel led the IDF to immediately shutdown Eilat  airport.

The IDF ordered the immediate shutdown of the airport at Eilat Thursday to all arriving and departing flights, following an unspecified security assessment.

The assessment is most likely linked to terrorist activity in the Sinai desert, which borders on the southern port city.

Takeoffs of flights headed north were initially allowed to take place but were also stopped later in the evening.

The IDF will open the airfield at Uvda as an alternate landing spot for flights diverted from Eilat.

The Egyptian military has been conducting a large scale offensive against terror cells that operate in Sinai, in the last few weeks. Continue Reading »

IDF goes on High Alert in Judea and Samaria

The IDF & Security Services are on alert in Judea & Samaria and Jerusalem due to intel of another terrorist attack.

The IDF is on alert in Judea, Samaria (Shomron) and Jerusalem on Friday over threats of further terrorist attacks. There has been increased violence in the region in recent days, beginning with the outbreak of the Pillar of Defense battle with Gaza terrorists.

On Thursday night the IDF conducted an arrest operation, detaining 28 Palestinian Authority residents suspected of involvement in terrorism.
